Break it down and put each piece in a bag with a bunch of rice
Then hope
Some of the parts might be salvageable but it probably isn't going to even close to work as it did.

There's one way to find out.
I'd suggest letting it dry completely and then a little longer before pressing the power button. If there was no current going through I don't see why the components that make it work would be damaged, but I don't know about the lcd screen and if those things are watertight/airtight or not. Dissassemble it to the best of your ability and dry it completely before trying to start it. Then if it starts great and if not oh well but at least you gave it a good try.

What computer guy? If you're talking just random computer shop dude, you don't have to go to extreme lengths, if you're talking about cops and it's serious enough, there's little you can do to be 100% secure. Data on the computer can be recovered even after some pretty serious shit has happened to it, but there needs to be a desire/justification strong enough to go to extreme lengths (and expenses) to recover data from it.

Oh. Well, then thats different. Charge the battery and submerge the thing in water, use a wooden dowel rod to press the power button. Then dry it out and take it in for warranty replacement, it'll be unrepairable. Remember to back up your data first, you don't want to lose important resumes or pictures or anything.

That looks perfect. Do that. The "computer guy" isn't really going to give a shit if it's some large retailer, they'll probably just make fun of you for watching porn in the bathtub or something. If it's a local store you should feel bad.

Don't turn it on while it has the potential to be wet. Let it dry out and you'll be ok.

1. You're an idiot. 2. Read your warranty and go from there. Do whatever it covers. The IT guy won't give a shit.
