I've Figured It Out

Well,
I've been struggling with something for quite some time, but I've never been able to figure out what it was. Until last night.
My issue somewhat stems from childhood, but nothing traumatic. I just had less issues when I was a kid, even though I technically should have had MORE issues (i was fatter, less popular, skin problems)
Now, I'm pretty much fully improved than how I used to be. But I still have more "issues" - more things I ponder and more things to consider in life.
At first I thought this was just getting older. More things to worry about, more things to do, etc.
But now I've realized. And it's pretty simple. As a child, you think the world is huge. You have innocent wonder about anything and everything. I had no idea what was beyond a 5 mile radius of my house. But now....I do.
And it's quite depressing. The world used to be SOOO big and now it's back to its normal, real size. And I see it as so. There's much less wonder, even though I think of so many more mind-blowing questions and unanswerable topics.
I wish I still saw the world as an unknown.

You spend your entire life trying to get over the mental scarring of your first 5 years on earth.

Thats your perception. As a kid you were right, the world is infathomably huge and complex. All your understandings of its scope can be nothing but hopeless simplifications of somerthing so complex its beyond all comprehension.
What kills your wonder is the conclusions you draw from these simplifications.
I am a human theres 7 billion humans I am nothing special.
Thats where you go wrong. The world is exploding with things that are all completely special. You are one of those.
Look at the details and the wonder will return. Look at the details and your generalities will be defeated.

It's not so much that I don't have wonder, for tripping has made me realize that the things we take for granted (trees, the sun, the sky, and everything) are more beautiful than I could ever imagine.
It's more the disappointment of becoming a real human who has to make reasonable dreams instead of dreaming big. Anything is possible when you're a kid but now, I need to worry about "practical" things like getting a job, good education, etc.
Even though I believe "practicality" is determined by society.

Wow man I have to say this really blew my mind and I agree. I feel like this is the reason that cannabis has started to go sour for me as I've gotten older. I remember how much I loved smoking as a 15 year old kid when the world seemed so undiscovered. Now, when I smoke I often feel anxious and sick, which is sad but it's the way it is I still love my psychedelics though, and I can't imagine that ever changing.
