In black and white, complete with their ancient effects and from the day when every male wore a suit, tie, and hat. What's your favorite episode. Mine was '100 Days of The Dragon'

I remember both shows (Outer Limits and Twilight Zone), and have a hard time remembering which one was which.
One episode that stands out in my mind was of this man who lived in an apartment and kept the names of people who were sinners on index cards. He had rows and rows of cards with peoples names on them. He was counting down to a specific time, and kept repeating something about how the sinners were gonna get it. When the time came, the man who kept the names on cards ended up shrinking to a miniature size (Think: Alice in Wonderland)
There are more I vaguely remember, one where aliens visit a shack in the middle of nowhere.

Both are classics, but I'd have to slide this way as well.
There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call the Twilight Zone.

I'd say the Outer Limits stayed mostly a tight production around telling stories of science fiction, whereas the Twilight Zone would venture into the realm of the supernatural, horror, psychological, or fantastical--and stories often had a moral or some form of social commentary contained within them.

there corny looking effects where way beyond those times. Some great sci fi writers wrote those episodes too.
To another poster, though twilight zone might have had more supernatural type stuff, it had its fair share of good sci fi plots.
Richard Matheson was one of the best sci fi writers of that era, in fact, he just died this year. He was famous for writing the episode 'Nightnare at 20,000 Feet' among many others, and his movie fame includes 'I am Legend', A Stir of Echoes, The shrinking man.....
