Psilocybin Cubensis not Growing properly?

I've been cultivating my psilocybin mushrooms for about 5 weeks now and only found 5 mushrooms. Does this occur often? I've been fanning and misting at least 3 times a day and giving it 12 hours of sunlight. My second batch of 10 cakes is doing much worse, absolutely no signs of growth. I dunked each cake for 24 hours in chilled water and only rolled the first 5. I'm worried my harvest wont amount to much. Am I doing something wrong? Pictures are provided.

Are these Orissa india strain? When I grew that strain the same thing happened. The caps opened up super early and they looked pretty funky. But the 2nd flush will bring you the big healthy monsters. ( if that is the strain) Even if its not it might be the case

orissa india is not a strain. It's a name that a vendor gave it. A strain is two hyphae meeting and becoming dykariotic mycelium. There's 1000's of strains in a PF cake made with a spore syringe. Since there's 1000's of strains there's so much variation and variety that any "variety/name" can act in all sorts of different ways.
Do you have a properly built SGFC?
Quote:
Fruiting Chamber A SGFC has 1/4" holes spaces 2 inches apart in a grid patten on all six sides. 4-6 inches of moist perlite. No attachments made to it with any extra things like humidifiers. Optimally the SGFC should be in the middle of a room. No fans should be run in the room with the SGFC, but a cracked window is OK. A humidifier in your house can help to raise the ambient RH but don't put it near your SGFC put it in the other corner of the room if you do decide to run a humidifier at all. The SGFC IMO should have at least 6-12 inches of room from any wall on all 6 sides. This includes finding some sort of raisers to elevate the SGFC off of the surface it's on.
FAE This is a phenomenon (Fresh air exchange) in a properly built SGFC this is constantly happening. The perlite is naturally cooler than the surrounding air this moves molecules closer to eachother as the lose kinetic energy. This creates low pressure which pulls air up through the bottom holes. As the air moves through the perlite it picks up humidity and keeps the chamber at or above 90%RH. This occurs naturally without the fanning and is why we like to have no fans in the room and is also why fanning after misting is not a replacement for FAE.

Should I be fanning more? keep a window open? Can I harvest these 6 mushrooms soon or should I wait? Thank you for your help.

That makes allot of sense. When I first birthed the cakes I did not, and it wasnt hot enough either, so I fixed both of those, and my guys looked just like this guys, except they were in a big cluster. Man thats dissapointing. I had the best experience in my life on " Orissa india " Sad is just vendor hype. Thought I found something I really liked.
Sorry to thread jack.. But what are your temps? I put a small space heater in my closet on the lowest setting and my guys got HUGE after that

I think slightly colder temps are actually meant to encourage bigger more "meaty" shrooms and hotter temps the opposite...not 100% on that though

I keep a heater next to my mushrooms at all times. I believe the temperature ranges from 75-90 degrees. A couple of times I found my room only 55 degrees Fahrenheit.

for the most part you get stems that are less hollow with colder temps and more hollow with warmer. I've fruited between 65-80 and it's really not much of a difference except in the stems. All cubes are somewhat hollow but super dense fruits almost seem solid.
OP I'm guessing your fruiting chamber isn't built properly and yes I would pick those shrooms and make sure your SGFC is made EXACTLY as outlined.

Fan only after you mist. Fanning is not FAE. Fanning is only to evacuate the high humidity air in your SGFC so that the mist you just applied has dry air to kickstart the evaporation process. FAE is a passive process, you would have to fan 3-5 times an hour to keep up with the FAE of a properly built SGFC doing it all by itself.
Mist cakes til they glisten then fan. When they look dry again mist them again and fan.
Post a picture of your fruiting chamber

pick them soak them check your perlite make sure there's no fan in your room mist until they glisten/fan wait till it no longer glistens before misting again, make sure your chamber is elevated and do your best not to handle them
