Old Ovoid Prints
    #19204019 - 11/29/13 08:49 AM (10 years, 2 months ago)

I found a whole shitload of ovoid prints I made onto aluminum foil back in May, that had been folded up and stuffed into a drawer. They haven't been exposed to the elements but they also haven't been protected from normal conditions inside a sock drawer -the humidity in the room is on the low end. They still look the same, and haven't rubbed off.

Are they still viable?

I would say yes but you may have to isolate the good from the bad a couple times.

Yes they are probably fine, prints last a few years usually.

Since they were folded up they are probably reasonably clean.  If they were not folded I would recommend using them for nonsterile cultivation.

They were folded up with the prints on the inside.

There's about six square feet of tightly packed prints, so what is a reasonable size to cut them up into?

When I have a ton of prints to give away I generally send 20 to 50 to each person, and make them promise to give or trade them away within a month.    That way I only have to send out 20 letters or so instead of thousands.

Good idea. Whoever wants them has to spread the wealth. Maybe some people in far flung places, so the whole world will be colonized.

I've been spreading mycelium like a motherfucker. Never had much luck with spores.

Spreading mycelium works a lot better than spreading spores.  They get a huge head start that way.

Both ways work, it's just that with spores they have a whole lot of other stuff they have to outcompete.
