I bought mine at a regular old hardware store.But I heard people having luck at Walmart & K-mart (damp rid) $3.49

Yeah i got mine at walmart. I found it in by the laundry detergants and stuff it was on the top shelf it comes in a blue cardboard milk type container and it says damp rid on it.

The problem is that you are not supposed to ask for dessicant. have you seen some of the people that work at these places.. some of them have trouble finding their ass.. Dessicant... we are using it as a dessicant. but there are a few different things that we can use as a dessicant. In chemistry labs.. we have this great stuff that turns pink when it gets wet.. then you stick it in the oven to dry and it turns white again.. cool shit.. have no idea where to find it. . what you are looking for is Damp rid..

Also of note: I had once run out of "official" dessicants such as Damp-Rid, and in desperation threw in some very fine, sandy, 'clumping' kitty liter which worked great. I now use this exclusively because it costs $6 for 25 pounds. Keep it in mind as an alternative. I think it's called Litter Perfect, with a screw top plastic container in a cardboard box.

I couldnt find any of this mythical damp-rid stuff either. I went to an arts and crafts store instead and bought silica gel. Its used for drying flowers and works just fine.

Go to a hardware store and ask where the moth balls are. Damp-Rid should be somwere close.

P.S. A fan works really good too. Just set the mushrooms in front of the fan for a day or so.
