Given the opportunity, would you take part in the first manned mars mission? The whole shibang, 6 month journey 1ish year stay and 6 month journey back. Would you take it? Why? For fame or the experience?

I voted yes. Only a buffoon would turn down the opportunity of a lifetime.

I'd really have to get a better analysis of the odds of survival. Space travel, especially the first trip to Mars would be incredibly dangerous. I'm all for adventure, but when the odds approach "certain death" I get a bit hesitant.

Correct me if I'm wrong but the Mars One mission is a one way trip.....I guess it be cool to get your name in the History books, and you'd probably get a statue or two. Still not worth living out the rest of your life on a barren wasteland of planet. It'd be cool for a few days but after that you'd probably want to blow your brains out....remember...aint no internet up there.

Supposing I'd probably survive the trip, yes. I'd like to be the first person to cultivate cannabis and psilocybin mushrooms on Mars too. I'd take a few prints and some cannabis seed. With all the survival and medical gear cultivation would have to be pretty easy with the supplied equipment.

noooope, I'd almost definitely regret it within a few days of being stuck on a barren planet knowing I can never go back home or see any of my friends or loved ones again. Or do anything I enjoyed ever again.
The initial trip would probably be pretty cool though.

Funk yes! Even if I died, I wouldn't care. The experience of being in space is something I have and always will want to do. Even if we never made it to Mars, I'd die happy as hell, because I got to float around in zero gravity. If we made it back, then I would be the happiest lady in all of the lands. An amazing experience would be so worth the risk.

Fuck yeah I'd do it. I'd be the first human to cultivate the red planet. We will live off of mushrooms... Forever.

This.
The problem lies within the internet not being able to play the internet.
