New Kind of Jar Lids

Hey guys, I looked carefully and couldn't find a perfect place to post this, but Cultivation seems closest.
If any of you aren't familiar with kickstarter.com it's a site that has small time business ideas that people can contribute to (in short). Not trying to plug the site necessarily, but there is a new idea on there that looks pretty helpful to cultivating.
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/802976941/tulid-reusable-mason-jar-lid They're a new kind of reusable jar lid, that's mostly made out of silicone. Doesn't say specifically that they're autoclavable, but since they are silicone, and they're made for canning jars...
Point is: they have some jar lids for donations, if anyone is interested in trying them out.

Seems cool, but unneeded, as the lids that come with the jars are already reuseable and waterproof.....

True, but if it's made of silicone, it may be one giant self healing injection port. Pure speculation. Would be cool though.

And even less if you buy a tube of silicon at wal-mart

Good point but if they arent cheap we are all really better off going with premade self healing injection ports.. i actually dont even use self healing ports on my bags, i just flame sterilize the needle, then inject and put a piece of tape over the injection hole immediately. Ive only had one bag contam out of 40 bags doing it this way, and im pretty sure i accidently punctured the bag with the syringe a second time..

As a side note, you don't need RTV unless you're storing it in the engine of your car, or a campfire
The regular clear silicon works fine for PC temps, just let it cure overnight, or at least 4hrs, before PC'ing

This is all true, and the price would definitely make a difference. I was just pointing out a possible positive of the lids.
Certainly wont argue the ease and cost-effectivness of buying a tube of silicone. Every BRF cake and WBS jar I've made has silicone on it.
