I would say Chrono Trigger. Playing through it for the second time on an emulator, last time I beat it was 10+ years ago.

Same here. I've New Game +'d to the extreme.
All the answers so far have been great. I really used to love The Secret Of Mana because it had an open world gameplay style. You could fly to the final battle anytime you felt like it, or otherwise just mess around the map looking for new stuff. That game had a pretty advanced "3D" map sim. I could probably say that all my favorite SNES RPGs were very replayable.

Chrono Trigger. I've beat it maybe 5 times, so 5 * 35h = 175 hours. That's really good for a system whose games can often be beaten in a single sitting.

while it's by no means even close to my favorite snes game, as far as replay value went, i played the fuck out of mortal kombat ii and was a living god at it....

if you softmod the wii, you can run snes9x on it and play any snes rom with it (though ff6 & chronotrigger are on virtual console for wii, so you can just download and install the wads) but you're right, earthbound is available on wii u virtual console, but i'm not paying $10 for it, snes9x is good enough.

Yea I was thinking about modding it but I don't know anything about it. We use it for netflix and I read about people "bricking" their systems so it kind of scared me away from it. Maybe I'll have to do some more research into it.

My copy of Earthbound came with a bundle including the player's guide and some posters and stuff. The player's guide had a scratch n' sniff sticker on it, smelled like sulfur and I can't remember which character was on it. I want to say it was a mushroom.

I always liked the vibe of that game, but I couldn't tolerate playing it myself. Having enemies that I'd already killed come back on the screen as soon as I panned it away and then back always made my wires cross.

I'm playing through that right now. I don't think I've ever played an action side-scrolling game that had controls as good as Super Metroid. The atmosphere of that game is one-of-a-kind.

best snes/nes games: turtles, mario 1,3, lolo, supermario world, star fox, zelda
n64: donkey kong killer instinct
both can be emulated on any platform perfectly, runs fine on my xbox1.0 with chip($30 used)
killer instinct will destroy your thumb in a few minutes with any controller like on n64
amiga was much better than snes/nes/sms/n64 though: sensible soccer,brutal sports football,lost vikings,syndicate,cannon fodder,north & south,mortal kombat 2,gunship 2000,flight of the amazon queen,primal rage,alien breed 3d,nuclear war,red baron,ports of call,kick off,giana sisters,cool spot,zool,digital illusions pinball,golden axe
can be emulated perfectly if you got a fast PC, in Winuae just need to set it up then most games work perfectly, and need 2 usb competition pro sticks just installed workbench from virtual floppies on my virtual machines virtual amiga harddrive

The final boss on that game was insane. Like stupid insane. In a game thats pretty much based off combos it's one of the most annoying things ever to face a guy that will break ALL of your combos. I don't think I ever beat the bastard. Good game still. Galcious ftw.

lion king was ok too.. :-)
and mickey mouse, that game was epic on sega I think it was, very nicely made
KI is nice, 1% health and then you make a 12-double combo and finish opponent without opponent being able to do anything better than mortal kombat 2 almost, but only almost
galacious: down up down up down up or so the newbies do ;-P
