So - my thermometer broke...
    #19201641 - 11/28/13 05:14 PM (10 years, 2 months ago)

... and I have a 13 lb stuffed turkey in the oven. I put it in around 12 noon @ 325 f. Oh, it looks yummy. My thermometer isn't working, so I'm thinking taking it out around 4:20 pm should be just about right. How can I go wrong with 4:20?

Will it prevent you from toking at 4:20 as well?

No way.
Take it out at 4:20, takes about 15 secs tops. Still have 45 seconds to toke up.

Quote:

For a stuffed turkey, allow 3 to 3 1/2 hours for an 8- to 12-pound turkey; 3 1/2 to 4 hours for a 12- to 14-pounder; 4 to 4 1/4 hours for a 14- to 18-pounder; 4 1/4 to 4 3/4 hours for an 18- to 20-pounder; and 4 3/4 to 5 1/4 hours for a 20- to 24-pounder.

Notice that these times are based on a steady 325-degree roasting temperature. Hotter temperatures will shorten the cooking time. Also, dry-brining, for some reason, has consistently shown to shorten cooking times.

I didn't dry brine.

Yum, it was a Fresh really young turkey, so it was still pink near the bone, but it was good.
