What in the actual fuck? Is this article a joke?
I'm not an expert in any sort of science but here are my objections:
We are not descended from chimpanzees, we're more like a cousin of the chimp; we share a common ancestor. According to this 'pimp' theory, shouldn't a modern chimpanzee be able to mate with a modern pig? I am extremely sceptical of these claims!

A quote from the article:
Quote:
McCarthy also says that there are two possibilities when it comes to this type of hybridization. The first is that the hybridization happened several million years ago, and that it resulted by creating the first hominids hordes, and that later from the horde all hominid gruops formed. The second is that the special cases of mating between chimpanzees and pigs produced two separate species of hominid, and that this is also still possible in places where pigs and chimpanzees meet each other, like in South Sudan.
Have I misunderstood the meaning of this? Or was this scientific paper facilitated by the smoking of much crack?

Eugene McCarthy's
Argument for pig chimp hybrid ancestor.
IMO it's hard to dismiss this as crackery. The second link is an compelling argument even if it is crackery.

To rebut his ideas on hybrid viability, although only about 10-20% of sperm are viable the other 80-90% aren't dysfunctional. A large percentage of sperm, around 40%, are over sized and slow becoming more so in the hours after copulation. The remaining percentage are also sterile and normal sized but carry a toxin designed to kill foreign sperm. Together this represents an obstacle for the next male that deposits sperm into the female. Basically we have multiple partners so often our sperm have learned to fight each other. Perhaps only a theory but the function has been proven and it's a fallacy to suggest most sperm are dysfunctional.
Other physical characteristics have alternate explanations as well. The loss of prominent brow ridges would have precipitated eyelashes just as nicely as an ancestry with pigs, the wearing of animals skins would have facilitated the loss of hair, when for a pig it's thick fatty layer along with a penchant for rolling in the mud would have necessitated the loss of hair. Our nose cartridge formed as we learned to walk upright to prevent rain from entering while a pigs snout is used to root for food.

Welll... humans mate with animals, so why couldnt a chimp? Do not think there would be no bastards though...

It is a nudibranch. There is a huge variety and most seem to be visually quite intriguing.
