Is Most San Pedro Potent?

As far as purchasing any San Pedro cuttings via the internet, what is the likelihood of purchasing a non-psychoactive (dud) cutting, given that I prefer to eat the delicious cacti and leave the window sill exclusively for my collection of bongs, eh?

Often sellers have reputations and comments but pretty much unless you have had that specific batch you wont know if there's not that much in it or there's a good amount. This is from research though not personal use

The vast majority of San Pedro in circulation in the states is of very low potency. In most cases, it's much better to go with bridgesii

unfortunately America is littered with americanized san pedro thats very low potency but very vigorous and easy to care for, a perfect plant for a nice little desert scape.

I wouldn't buy San Pedro. Most is basically very low to low potency. I second, buy bridgesii if you are serious. You get what you pay for, and there is a reason san pedro is getting less inexpensive and bridgesii is worth the same or more. I also like the spines.

Get the real deal San Pedro and it may be more potent and a more enjoyable trip than Bridgesii. Good luck finding it however: as most have shared; the majority of "San Pedro" available (in the States at least) is the weakened "Predominant cultivar" form.

All readable matter in the above post is ficticious... any similarities to real life are purely coincidental. Blessing.

Talk to me in a few years. Propagation has begun. None to share right now though. Please no PM's for cutting requests.

Yeah, all my cacti that have actually been potent, have died and rotted easily. The ones that don't rot and die usually fucking suck. What the fuck

It kinda sucks because mescaline content is so variable in dried cactuses. There really is no way to know until you try them.

Ah, I see, Bridgesii is the shiznit. But what about Peruvian Torch? And what's the deal with "PT (Peruvian Torch) Incense"? For instance, a site called Natural Ether based in the US sells that and even San Pedro chips. They don't have any reviews on their site, but did have all positive ones on ebay.

Peruvian Torch can be strong, esp Icaro's torch (the Matucana variety) but the vast majority of the specimens sold online are mislabeled. A lot of Cuzcoensis gets sold as torch. The dried incense chips or powder can be a real crapshoot depending on which vendor you use. Buyer beware.
