The most profound effect, for me at least, is helping with PTSD. I'm not one to take xanax and all that other shit. But smoking a blunt everyday has helped keep my anxiety and stress down enough to be happy. And not surprisingly I can tell the difference in myself on days that I don't smoke.

Sorry to hear you don't get the benefits of cannabis, Jackson. Maybe look into strains with higher CBD percentages, that's where most of its healing properties come from. And strains with higher CBD's tend to be less cloudy for me. Not sure if anyone else has noticed that.

If you want to get more high while you smoke, do some research on 5-HTP.

I don't live anywhere near medical states so i never know exactly what i'm getting.. But i have been smoking weed for years from all different sources and never once have i been able to tell the different. Even between sativa and indica. I'm so sensitive to weed that they just fire all my receptors right up to the point where i can't distinguish little itty bitty differences.

Glad it's working for you. Careful though. My gf uses it to medicate for PTSD and while i'm glad she's found something that helps, gonna be honest it gets in the way sometimes. She's formed a complete dependence on it. We'll go on vacation sometimes and she be all upset and unpleasant because she can't smoke at her leisure. She's told me several times she wants to cut back and goes straight back to smoking day in day out. I'm not saying it doesn't have its benefits, but just be sure to always be honest with yourself. Many people get in the trap of thinking "weed is harmless" to the point where they don't realize the effects it's actually having on their lives.Quote:

For me it's that i have a harder time collecting my thoughts, not prioritizing responsibilities. Psychedelics made me differentially prioritized for sure... But when i want to do something i have the mental clarity to do so. With weed its a different story

the best weed I ever smoked was purple Kush. The most euphoric, the most amazing feeling. The best ofthe best..that I've had.
Jackson that's quite strange, cannabis actually protects the brain and in fact fights the onset of degenerative brain disorders such as alzheimers and dementia. Hmm

I smoke everyday and since I have a job that requires detailed knowledge of math and science I really do notice it making me slower, less creative and in general more dumb. Life goes so much more easily when I quit it's unbelievable. People say I look better, have more energy, am more fun to be around. I like it. I like the smell and taste and the not giving a fuck attitude. I like the munchies and sleepiness and body high. But the only people I've ever heard tell me it doesn't make them dumb have jobs that require scrubbing dishes. No one I studied with during my masters ever touched the stuff. And I'm talking about a masters in science, not "liberal arts".

haha i'm so inclined to agree with you on personal experience, but i really do think it varies from person to person. plenty of really smart people smoke regularly and maintain prestigious positions. maybe it's just not for you? i know for sure it's not for me. thank god for this thanksgiving break out of state with my parents. give me a week to detox it and hopefully break the cycle. then it's all will power from there

I can *only* be all that creative and clear minded on weed. It's magic for me. My favorite plant, actually tied with mescaline cacti.
Jelly, weed ACUTELY/temporarily makes you less functional and lethargic during the stone. CHRONIC effects are very pro-brain in all normally functioning brains..just only smoke at night that way you aren't actually in the middle of a stone during work lol. Honestly weed is really meant to be a highly effective sleep aid/brain protector, in my eyes..not like coffee or stimulants to make you more functional during the day. Using a tool for something when it's purpose is the exact opposite is the situation here I believe, not being critical at all lol just throwing in my Pennies

Jellyfish, the reason people who smoke weed don't go to get their masters is because they realize that's a complete waste of 8 years. Just more conditioning and programming. To everyone out there that thinks college opens peoples minds, fuck you open your own damn mind for Christ sake. Everything that is taught to you in college is knowledge that can be obtained for free somewhere else.
Never went to college, and ever wanted to, but I have a great desire to learn and I do it on my own. Currently I work in a lab with all sorts of science majors and masters. I am the only one with no college degree, just good experience.
If weed doesn't have positive effects for you, I would suggest you don't smoke. Weed does not make people less motivated or involved in their lives, those are just dumb lazy people.

Mostly cacti. I grew some ganja this summer, but it's done. Some cherry tomatoes still producing, and some tulsi basil. I also have a collection of strange and unusual succulents, and some fuscias a salvias for the hummingbirds.

Uh weed definitely makes me less motiveated and i don't consider myself "dumb lazy people". People need to stop making generalizations, for both sides. This is part of why i find cannabis culture highly annoying. "Oh we have studies that say weed is safe, now let's all ignore the personality issues it causes some of us." Your first comment is wrong too. Granted, i don't think a college degree is the right option for everyone, nor do i think it's a measure of success, or even the best method of education available... But that has nothing to do with it as i know plenty of graduate students who smoke weed and use all sorts of drugs. I can say about college what you said about weed in the last paragraph "if college doesn't have positive effects for you, i would suggest you don't go." But i wouldn't make all the other generalizations about weed and college you made. A masters isn't a waste of 8 years if you get what you want out of it.
