Cool stuff. I wonder how many times his wife has heard him recite those same bits of speech.

I can relate to this guy on some levels, like when I sit back and think about the absurdity of some of the accepted laws. More people aught to stand up for their constitutional rights, as this guy did.

Oh yeah, it's totally absurd that somebody should be punished for catching a fish when they're hungry. The law is probably in place to keep one guy from fishing out the whole lake. But it's equally absurd for this guy to think he is outside the law. In a perfect world the people with authority to enforce the law would have the intent of the law in mind when holding somebody liable. Unfortunately much more goes into a decision to hold a person liable than just whether they can be held liable. If you've ever gotten off a speeding ticket you know this to be true. I'm probably rambling a bit here, but I guess my point is it would be nice if laws were enforced to their intent, rather than just to be enforced.

He was charged with obstruction and resisting arrest...not for catching a fish.

He was also rambling a bit and I didn't catch all of what was going on. I stand by my point.

That judge looked powerless. I support the guy 100% but I'm astonished the judge didn't have him thrown in jail for contempt. It looked like she even requested it but it still wasn't done. That's some crazy shit. Yeah, he's got my vote.

The judge felt sorry for the old guy.  She didn't want to throw him in jail.  Most judges don't like to jail mentally ill people.  At trial, she had much less patience for him, though.
