o.k this time i asked for another l.c. from TSD this time i asked if they can double check the culture and vacuum seal it and they did. I put full faith in this syringe and made 7 WBS jars and inoculated them 6 days ago and today and had growth on day four ,but the last two attempt have from the same contamination. now these jars are..... [
GOOD!!!!!!!!!! they have good growth no funky colors just good shiitake myliculm i give the TSD my appreciation for there costumer service and patience I'll have some pics when my new camera comes in about a week Now my only problem is i can't find any saw dust pellets and i checked the local lumber yard they have some but they treat there wood with fungicide so i can't use it( a big to them) the wal-mart that i work at has some oak ,cherry, and apple wood chunks, but no saw dust. is there anyway to grow them on straw or alfalfa cause i have access to a bunch of it. any help would be much appreciated.

Any hardware store will have fuel pellets, and most feed stores as well. Wal-mart might not, but orange depot, lowes, ace, true value, etc. they all do. My home depot has 40 lb bag of doug fir pellets on sale for 4 dollars a bag right now. So 10 cents a pound isn't bad.
They also sell these BBQ/smoker pellets that are hardwood and apple/cherry/mesquite and those are 10 bucks for 25 pounds, not a great deal, but they're all thats available in spring/summer/fall here. They grow everything well.
Just look around, I know you want to find everything at wal-mart, but sometimes they just don't have stuff!
Being in florida, you might not be able to find wood-stove fuel pellets, but the smoker/bbq pellets might be something you can find and use

There might not be so many people needing fuel pellet stoves for heat in florida :P But it is a seasonal item in most stores in my area.

Fuel pellets are used in farms as bedding for horses, sheep and cows. Which is why it's generally available at feed stores. Anyway, don't give up!
