My terrarium

So I finally birthed and 2 of my cakes are sitting in their terrariums (3L soda bottles with a bunch of holes punched throughout it):

I was hoping for and comments and tips on my terrarium and also had a few questions.
1) I don't want to buy an rh tester because it seems expensive, also if the cakes are all separate I'd need more than one.. I was wondering how else I could check if the terrarium is too wet or too dry? I know I can see the inside of the bottle has misty walls, but I'm not sure if that is just the bottle itself that doesn't let the water slide down because of soda residue.. Can I tell from looking at the cake if it is asking for more water?
2) also, my room tends to get cold, especially since winter is coming.. Would it be bad if the temp dropped down to 60ish F? I have a personal heater but I can't leave it on all day especially if I'm not home.
3) lastly, I just found out the perlite also has plant food in it. I did rinse the crap out of it before dumping in the terrariums, but could trace amounts of non mushroom food be harmful to mushrooms?
Thanks for any help

If you washed the bottles before turning them into pods there shouldn't be any soda residue. Looks like normal condensation to me, which usually indicates high RH. How often are you misting? In my experience with cakes glistening substrate is wet enough after pinning. You want them to be less wet before pinning so the mycelium is triggered to pin due to dehydration. Fanning every once in a while will help with that.
Also I don't see many holes in those bottles. FAE is going to be a large contributor to your pins growing into healthy fruits.
As for your temp I am not sure how much it will affect it. The lowest I get to in my area is low 70's. The only thing I could think is it will affect the speed of your growth by slowing it. You may also get smaller but denser fruits.

I cleaned the bottles with bleachwater then rinsed the crap out of it. but i noticed they still smelled like soda a tiny bit..
also I just started, but I expect to mist twice a day along with fanning 3-5 times.
If you look closely at the first picture, you can see a few holes, though it is hard to see the, in the pics.. I used a nail so they are kinda small, and I put them ever 2 inches or so. Would you suggest more since they are kinda small? Can I have too many holes?

And if anyone else has any info about the temp it would be greatly appreciated.
I am often home, so the temp will usually be around 70-75, but sometimes the temp may drop to as low as 60ish. I just hope that wouldn't bee cold enough to kill them. And from experience does anyone know the lowest temp they survived through for an extended amount of time?

NICE! afoaf found out that the 3 liters will fit right over the carryout(2cup)kfc bowl things..
good for mini bulking experiments and such
that prelite you have is just fine to use btw oh and about ya temps..as you see a survival blanket was used to, more or less trap some heat in the grow space, not for light so much. I hope this helps out..
and good luck with your soon upcoming flushes!

no it indicates a temp diffrence not a high rh

i think you mean evaporation, they don't like being dehydrated, you can have plenty of evaporation with out them drying out

Thanks Cronicr. I always thought the condensation was a sign of high RH. My bad. And yes evaporation was the word I was looking for. My vocabulary is more accessible when I'm actually awake.

Sooo... Can a terrarium have too many holes? And what's the lowest temp that the shrooms can survive through?

And sick. I used tin foil for my colonizing chamber cuz that needs to be a lot warmer. And I use a jar of boiling water to get the temp up. I might make a little thing like that for my fruiting area. Looks cool

50 is really pushing it IMO id try and keep it in the 70 degree to 80 degree range for sure 75 is optimal for good growth.
