Eating dehydrated Bridgesii
    #19196497 - 11/27/13 01:19 PM (10 years, 2 months ago)

I need people experienced with both eating dehydrated cactus and those who made a tea to give me the pros and cons.

I really don't have the time to brew a tea for 10 hours anytime soon so I dehydrated my cactus for storage and for prep.

Can someone enlighten me as to how active it is in its current state?

Dehydrated whole cactus: basically all pros and no cons for me personally actually. I just cut it up into tiny pieces with scissors and swig down these pieces with soda pop.

Tea: less effective for me than raw, and basically qualitatively the same experience..including nausea. It's the mescaline itself that actually causes nausea, for most people, I believe.

You can't escape the taste of tea. You can easily escape the taste of dry cactus by cutting it into pieces and swigging down with a beverage that further blocks your tongue from the taste, if that is, you can swallow the pieces quickly enough for them to not bleed mescaline into your mouth O.o

ive heard a few drops of lemom essential oil can help curve the nausea that is due to the affinity of the 5HT3 receptor.

Yeah that's the theory, didn't helpme much :/ I'm sure a couple datura seeds would help but I haven't actually experimented with it yet

damn well I plan on splitting this batch with a friend so thats around 10 inches each so I don't expect terrible nausea.

Oh well some people say it helps. Honestly I don't even have that bad of nausea on cactus tho it is noticeable. I doubt lemon essential oil is a very potent 5ht3 receptor antagonist, or if that's even the primary mechanism that it (supposedly) works.

Right now I'm slowly taking down basically 10 inches of raw cactus but I'm not even worried about nausea. Different folks different stomachs :S

Yeah, it's easy to completely hide the taste by drying it and taking down with some root beer

No, it's all about how much mescaline you take in and how quickly you take it in.

Man chocolate syrup does wonders for nausea..I have zero nausea right now, a little over an hour having eaten whole, waxy skin and all, cactus. I now know what to go to for zero nausea on a cactus trip. yall should consider it next time you imbibe

I had split 100g of bridgesii last month with a good friend. It was powdered and we mixed it in with oj and v8 juice, it wasn't the smartest thing to do because it was pretty heavy and gave about 2hrs of nausea until we started to come up pretty hard, it was effective but I think my next go I'm going to try the alcohol extraction, good luck!

Yeah if it was powdered, the particles would be extremely small relative to their surface area. mescaline would quickly peak into the juice. there's no way to hide mescaline taste by drinking tetea or juiced cactus or a beverage mixed with powdered cactus etc,

I have not noticed potency loss with dried cactus. I tripped bawelz two weeks ago from some powder that I had stashed for several months.  I made it into a tea though.  But, it is not necessary to make it into tea.
