substrate drying out
    #19195822 - 11/27/13 10:40 AM (10 years, 2 months ago)

I have a monotub incubating right now with coir and verm. the coir appears to be drying out, its got the "dry" color i guess you can say as apposed to the darker wet color. there is some condensation but not like there was and the mycellium is turning to a grayish shade.

should i mist it down?

is this prior to the first flush?
What was your substrate recipe?
Pics?
What do you mean by incubating?

haven't fruited yet, i'm waiting for it to colonize. spawned about 2
weeks ago.

brick of coir and 2qts verm.

followed Damion5050's coir tek.

i'm most concerned about the mycelium turning gray, don't know if it's dieing or just hasn't fully developed yet. the tub is only about 50% colonized

Could have dry pockets if your bucket coir tek didn't get mixed very well. I always suggest to just do proper pasteurization. How much water did you use with the coir and verm is what I was getting at. Chances are if it's off colored before it's even at 100% you have contams in your spawn but Idk if it's contamed without seeing it.

but in my opinion if it's only at 50% after two weeks it's fucked from contams.
