If you were to die tomorrow....

What is the one thing you'd wish you'd have done?
What would be the crowning achievment of your life?
For me, I would wish that I'd have written a book or recorded some music; left a trace of what I discovered whilst I existed.
I think my biggest personal achievement would be the people I know; the experiences we've been through together have bound us and made life seem...real.
Tough question, I know, but I'm going through a difficult patch in my life and am curious as to what people value .

Go through life with grace. Don't harm anyone. If you see something that needs doing, and you can do it, then do it. I don't believe in making a dent in history or putting my name on something or crap like that. You make an impact no matter what you do, in the world around you and the people you interact with. Just go with it, share what you've learned if you can and if it will be received.

If you were laid on your death bed tomorrow, there would be no unquenched desires? no matter how inane?

Drink a $10, 000 bottle of wine and smoke the best cigar on the planet.
My crowning achievement would be a crowning achievement.

When it's your time to go there is nothing that desires will do for you. Just take life and enjoy the experiences that you have everyday

I value myself, I know myself, I accept myself . This is why when it boils down to it, all I want to be able to do is tell my story.
Everyone walks alone, everyones life is made up of people, places and experiences... what all these things mean is completely arbitrary and absolutely personal.
To take a step back and look at what I would like to achieve on this crazy journey is a reminder for me to not get distracted from who I am.
No matter how empty, all lives are complete, in their own way... but what I'm asking is about your driving desires, your ikigai.

Exactly... it's not a big deal.
But.. all these little inane things we do, are part of what makes up humanity .

my ikigai is to exist. it doesnt matter if im sitting on a toilet or sitting on a space shuttle looking down on earth from the heavens. i'm still here, and i'm still me. and the experience is just as intrinsically juicy as it's always been. the only difference from that point is based in ego and value paradigms
my favorite form of existence is the form of acceptance of what is and what shall be. i accept that i shall play a role in shaping the future, and i accept that however it turns out, i will have played my role accordingly. i will have followed that path through seeking and fulfilling my own gratifications in life, while hopefully also considering the gratifications of others.
what i'm trying to get at, is it doesn't really matter what you're doin at the moment of your death. as long as the moment leading up to it allows you to reflect on yourself as the person you really wanted to be in life, you will be in a place of peace. and no matter what you've done throughout life, you can find peace in the fact that you had played your role accordingly, just as existence had meant it to be.
and then you will be free to not exist

That was an insightful post .
So, beyond the philisophical; where has existence taken you thus far?

My achievement would be that I would not be afraid of death and all which follows.. the end of my reincarnal cycle ect.. maybe?
My regret would be that I had not found someone to share this adventure with..

Made a document explaining to my wife what all the bills are, how to pay them online, how to cancel my student loans and collect my 401(k) etc.
I think I'm going to do that this weekend. Thanks for the heads up.

I am going to make music
I will train my body and my mind
I will find someone who will help me better myself and complete me, and I them
I will do my part to make my world a better place and help as many people as I can along the way
If I die before any of this, no regrets. No time for regretting, only time to live life, learn, experience, with everything I've been through... All the heartbreak, failures, love, joy, happy times and sad times I am only grateful to be able to experience it all. I don't regret any of it.
