Coconut oil for weight loss

So for the past week I have been using organic cold-pressed coconut oil to help with weight loss.
I must say I am pretty impressed.
I eat about a decent teaspoon scoop/chunk with breakfast. Its not super tasty but not really nasty either. Because of the special kind of amino acid in coconut oil the fat goes directly to the liver where it is processed into some other healthy stuff. Its not fattening like a lot of other vegetable oils.
Best part is I feel energized all day and have a massive decrease in general food cravings. I dont feel sick or anything but I am just not hungry. A light lunch is sufficient to last me till supper.

It's about as fattening per gram as any other vegetable oil. You may be right about it giving you some usable energy early in the day, though, and decreasing your food cravings. There's nothing magical about coconut oil as a lot of things online might lead you to believe. It's another food trend, like all those BS superfoods like acai berries, etc. Health food stores need to justify ridiculous price markups so manufacturers often try to start a hype about how magical a food product is, when in reality there's other things that get the job done. That being said, I also like coconut oil. It's great for cooking, great in coffee, and great in cosmetic products.
Best of all, I think the coolest thing about coconut oil is that it's a vegetable oil that is a solid at room temperature (if you don't live on the equator or something). It's really good in a lot of foods that you want to get crispy. For instance, I use coconut oil in crab cakes and when they cool down a bit, the outside gets a lot crunchier than it would with a vegetable oil, similar to how using butter works.
I am generally a health-food-hype-hater, kind of. My mother always tells me about the bullshit she sees on doctor oz, how some "white mulberries" from Asia are supposed to be good for losing weight or something. We live in the eastern US, and black mulberries grow wild here. Black mulberries have much higher anthocyanin antioxidant content than white ones, as well as fiber, and they're free--picked by me and not some poor starving peasant child who gets paid 3 cents per pound. She also bought into the "Raspberry Ketone" hype as if those are supposed to be beneficial to your health. We have black raspberries and blackberries that grow wild in our area, which are much healthier than eating some bullshit supplement with no scientific evidence for any beneficial effects in humans or other mammals.

the leanest person that i know consumes more coconut oil than anyone else i know. he uses that stuff by the gallons and the guy is ripped! he even claims that lauric acid is a magical substance. i'd be more than willing to bet that the claims of coconut oil having slimming properties are true! i personally find coconut oil to be a very energizing and feel good food source, and ime saturated fats are just much healthier than unsaturated fats.

Apparantly coconut oil was once used in an attempt to fatten livestock and it actually made them lean: https://www.google.com/search?q=coconut+oil+fatten+livestock

I also use it to make my weed brownies
Supposedly the short/medium length string type acids make the body absorb it differently than other vegetable oils.

coconut oil is healthy (healthier than veggie oil by far) and delicious, but it's not the key to perfect health or nutrition.
The best way to eat is to eat mindfully. Eat slowly, savor each bite, and most importantly be aware of how you feel after each meal.
More often than not you'll realize how crappy and unsatisfying a lot of your favorite foods are, and you'll naturally gravitate towards what's healthy for you; whole foods packed with nutrients and fiber.

I've been using raw virgin coconut oil for a while too I use it for some cooking, but mostly in green smoothies*. I've been replacing lunch with them.
* Tend vitamix apple, banana, hemp seeds, chia seeds, coconut oil, a bag of greens, and a couple of cups of blueberries. It's been working great for weight loss.

i like berries, but they have habbit of going old unless you make 2-3 trips for them if your using them daily..
shit without a calorie index, is becoming pointless. if its not organic, i try not to touch it, its crazy un-tasting fast food is becoming as i eat healthier... kinda taste 1/4 good 3/4 like shit n u can feel the disgustingnes, especially with taco bell
