Spread the love. Don't be selfish. I wish this upon everyone.

Imagine Imagine a future without it Imagine a future with it... The future is up to us. The future is now.

To be honest, I feel like this too
It sounds hella cheesy, but I consider myself/us to be doing "God's work", for lack of better terms.
Mushrooms can and have saved lives (mine included), and I feel like giving people that gift is no small thing.

I don't believe in god or any sort of predestination, but I'll say this: a couple of months ago, my brother was an extremely depressed narcotic addict and alcoholic, and when it all boiled over one night, he drank 3 bottles of cheap vodka, then drove 3 hours out into the desert with a gun to kill himself. Luckily changed his mind at the last minute, called me at 3am from somewhere in the Sonoran desert in Arizona and I was able to talk him out of it (good thing I had insomnia that night). We had him involuntarily admitted and he spent a month in rehab, but when he got out he was still depressed, lonely and without direction in his life... he felt as if he couldn't appreciate life without substances, but he recognized the damage they had done and didn't want to go back to abusing them either.... and he was still contemplating suicide every day.
So I introduced him to the enlightening, fun but mostly non-addictive world of mushrooms, walked him through his first few trips, taught him to grow them himself... and now he seems to be back to normal.. he laughs, talks about things he enjoys, has enrolled in college and generally just participates in life again. He says mushrooms make him feel better than any of those other drugs did; they are more enjoyable, but he isn't addicted to them.. he doesn't 'fiend' for them like he did for Vicodin, opiates and alcohol. He looks forward to the next time he can do them, but they don't control him like those other drugs did. He also seems to enjoys the mycology side of it... it is his first real hobby (other than playing video games), and he seems really into it. I have my brother back, he seems genuinely happy, he is looking forward to the future and he is driving out for a visit as we speak.
I think he has truly beaten the narcotic addiction because today he went to the dentist, got a root canal done, and then TURNED DOWN the Vicoden prescription when it was offered. I was really proud of him for that.
The funny thing is that both alcohol and pain killers are completely legal for him to have... he had prescriptions for the narcotics he got hooked on (for migraines), and I was the one who introduced him to alcohol thinking it might ease his narcotic withdrawls (BIG fucking mistake). Legal drugs almost killed him, but mushrooms seem to have saved him from himself, and for that I am eternally grateful. I just hope one day they are decriminalized. Who knows, it might happen... we seem to be going through a real change in our perception of drugs as a society right now.

OP this was just the thread I needed to see to start my day. This rut seems endless, reprieve seems fleeting, and to nail the coffin I just found out I'm definitely going to be here 6 more months. Yuck.
Way to spread optimism!
For those of you who alluded that shrooms have saved your life, do you care to elaborate a little bit or how it helped refresh/reshape your perspective?

Relapse can always happen, but damn... he's on top of that! Like... dayumm! You must be INCREDIBLY proud and those sentences actually brought a tear to my eye (I'm sleep deprived but still)
