Made a Noob mistake

Sigh I had a master jar than I G2G to 7 jars but I realized that one of the jars had a normal lid. I've never made the mistake before and I feel . You guys think the jar has a chance? I mean I won't be terribly upset, I still have 6 more. I guess I'm just looking for some consolation.

One of the jars he inoculated with his G2G master wasn't modified for GE.
OP, it might work. If it does it'll likely be slower than the others, though.

Leaves slighty loose and fasion a poly fill wrap around the lid. take a strip of poly or tyvek whatwver and put tape on each side of the "filter material " so you can seal top and bottom. around the loose liid.

That's what I was thinking too but I generally make my receiving jars pretty close to full and Idk if it will allow for proper GE. I have a nice method of distributing the grains even if the jar is 95% full.
Pretty genius Caddilac! Have you tried that? do I just stuff polyfill around the rim and leave the cap loose?

It should be ok to prep a new lid fit for GE, clean out your SAB or GB (make sure to spray ozium / air sanitizer), wipe your jar down, etc. and swap the lids. You open your sterile jars when you G2G, so I don't see why this would be too much of a problem.

that seems risky... but yea pc a jar with a ge lid put both jars in sab then remove the ge lid from jar and place it on the other one. RISKY! but doable.

I've seen reversed lids mid to loosely tightened work really well actually without any hole for GE. Gasket side down won't work though

Curious of a good method of distributing spawn with g2g jars that are quite full.

It's really simple. Okay so lets say your jar is 90-95% full after you transfer right? You cant just shake it like a mad man, the grains won't go anyhwere. So instead I have this rolling technique that I have been using for my Oyster jars. Roll all the grains to the side of the jar, until there is an empty space, then roll it again and the space will be at the bottom of the jars, keep rolling that space around as it becomes like a conveyor belt, bringing all your colonized grains around the entire jar. It leads to really quick colonization. In fact I dont even have to shake the jar anymore after I roll it.
I understand if it doesn't make sense, the whole thing though is to rotate that empty space so it spreads the grains.

He was asking how I distribute the colonized grains in a almost full jar.

I can visualize what you're doing. Thanks man
