I'd appreciate an identification.

Found these today while mowing the pasture, figured I might as well try to see what kind they are. Sorry about the poor picture quality, It's dark and I can't find any more and I didn't expect them to deteriorate so quickly. very dark inky liquid coming from them. and found them growing in some cow pies. any more information that's requested I'd be glad to answer. I am in central florida and its been raining alot lately. Thanks in advance!

my best guess with what you discribed is some sort of a Corpranoid .

I agree, certainly a coprinoid species of some type. I couldn't say which though given the condition.

It's not a great idea to store mushrooms in plastic bags/containers for the very reason you just found out: they rot much more quickly. They are not psychoactive nor edible.

Looks like it could be a Panaeolus sp.

I suppose they could be, but between the photo and the statement "very dark inky liquid coming from them." I'd still lean towards a coprinoid species of some type.

They do look rather beefy for something coprinoid.

well, I'm far from an expert but I don't think Panaeolus sp. is what they are, they were bright white when I picked them. its the liquid that has been coming out of the cap that made them look so crappy. thank you so much for your help though. all of you

Probably because they were wet and then you stored them in plastic. Were the gills "mottled" before becoming rotten?

tomorrow if I find more I'll take care not to use the container. the gills (i'm assuming the ridges under the cap) were quite dry and firm, the mushroom itself was EXTREMELY frail. the liquidy goop started coming out about 2 hours after I put them in the container.

If you're dealing with frost, a thawed picture might not do the original fruit body justice.

nope, like I said before, central florida. its been between 60 and 90 for the past 2 weeks. tomorrow I'll be back with hopefully better pictures. they're growing like weeds out here. from the research I've been doing though, I think these are definitely some sort of inky cap, but not Coprinus atramentarius. like I said before, these are bright white, with black undersides (gills?) that seem to leak water that's been turned dark black as well.

I don't believe there is any coprinoid species growing from manure that has as fleshy a texture as the one in your picture.
The "ink" in this case could very well just be water mixed with spores. A worn out Panaeolus antillarum would be a better match for your find, I think.
What was the size of it? Try to get some pictures when you're out there in the fields.
If, however, you insist on it being an inky cap, run this key and see where it leads you.
Identification will in any case be easier with some fresh specimens.
