Im 19 year old guy. Ive been reading about weed and weed psychosis then.i started reading about schizophrenia. All the negative symptoms of schizophrenia seem to be apparent with me. The thing is im very interested on meditation, astral projection and spirtuality and things of this nature and meaning of life. And philosophy like Alan Watts. Im worried because ive heard many accounts of schizophrenics being interested into this things.
" Negative symptoms of schizophrenia
The negative symptoms of schizophrenia can often appear several years before somebody experiences their first acute schizophrenic episode. These initial negative symptoms are often referred to as the prodromal period of schizophrenia. Symptoms during the prodromal period usually appear gradually and slowly get worse. They include becoming more socially withdrawn and experiencing an increasing lack of care about your appearance and personal hygiene. It can be difficult to tell whether the symptoms are part of the development of schizophrenia or caused by something else. Negative symptoms experienced by people living with schizophrenia include:
losing interest and motivation in life and activities, including relationships and sex lack of concentration, not wanting to leave the house and being less likely to initiate conversations, or feeling there is nothing to say.[\b]

You probably just lack confidence, are socially awkward/inept, and are depressed because of it. You don't want to leave the house because you don't feel relevant. The drugs are making you realize these things but you don't know how to take the steps to correct them or you just get really paranoid from weed. Sometimes that happens. You need to make some changes in your life to achieve your goals. I suggest you stop using drugs and start making some positive changes in your life. You need motivation. You need to find yourself.
What are your interests, hobbies, etc? Is there a field you'd like to work in? Do you want to start a family some day or just be a swinging bachelor throughout your life?
I was in similar situation one time and was questioning my sanity. Here are some things I did to get my shit together:
1. Get sober
2. Exercise Daily
3. Eat healty
4. Stimulate myself intellectually
5. Create and maintain healthy social relationships. If you hang out with fuckheads or your family members are fuckheads themselves, get them out of your life and do your own thing. Focus on you and not what the people you hang out with are doing.
6. Learn how to approach, entertain, and compose yourself around women Both short-term and long-term. You will make mistakes and do things that embarrass yourself. You learn from these failures so that you do not repeat them. Ever wonder why a lot of women tend to go after older men? It's because they are experienced, have confidence, and know how to treat a woman.
7. Have a source of income in a field you would want to work in. I chose to not work and live on student loans so that I could focus only on school. Yes I was poor during this time but I knew when I was done it would pay off. Luckily for me mechanical engineers are highly employable so I had a job right out of college.
8. Laugh and have fun. Life is a playground. Don't take the world so seriously. Be laid back but responsible.
9. Learn to balance your time.
10. Avoid materialism and social ladder climbing and do what you want to with your life.
11. Stand tall and don't let anyone disrespect you.
12. Be yourself and never pretend to be anyone you are not. This one may be difficult if you presently don't know who you are.
FWIW, this is coming from a highly introverted person.
But that's just like my opinion, man.

The negative symptoms of schizophrenia are common to people with other psychological issues. With the symptoms you have mentioned, it is possible you are feeling depressed, which may be triggered by underlying issues like social-anxiety.

A lot of pot heads feel that way when they aren't stoned. Not to mention those symptoms can be a sign of any number of other mental illnesses. Seriously think you ahve Schizophrenia? Talk to a doctor, an online drug community is not the place to go for help.

You're not alone buddy, I exhibit all of those symptoms plus I hear faint voices in my head every once and while. However the only fully blown schizophrenic episodes I've had were drug induced, where the voices and other crazy shit were obvious and impossible to ignore.
Some of the coolest people I've known are full blown schizo, so if it happens don't let it bring you down. I wouldn't consider you crazy unless you have conversations with your voices.
I would not recommend going to the doctor for it unless you feel like you're a threat to yourself or others. Idk bout you but I sure as shit don't want be diagnosed or labeled schizophrenic.

sounds like a spritualist loner to me. nothing wrong with that, but if you are really concerned then seek medical attention, don't come here for help, cause no can really help you here, over the internet. you can find people to talk to about your problems, here though; don't hesitate to do that.

You might know some cool schizophrenics but it's pretty rare to be cool and schizo; the negative symptoms turn you into a bit of a vegetable.

The medical term of scitzofrenia is quite absurd in its lack of definement... the medical community does not posess the slightest idea of what this phenomenon actually is...
if you are becoming a scitzofrenic... then become a good one :P

Quitting anything is subjective. What is difficult for one person may be extremely easy for another.

not true.. this is actually stereotypically for people online to say, oh you read the symptoms n you think you have it? then you dont. they think you are exaggerating, in actuality, the only reason why your looking these things up is because Something is going on that you hate within your mind.
OP, remember sometimes disorders aren't exactly one thing, you could be expressing parts os schizphrenia, as well as OCD, and adhd, and pyschosis... usually people have more than 1 disorder, and almost always display characteristic of other disorders. you might have for example 2/4 of the symptoms of each of those or more, it doesn't mean any less you shouldn't see a therapist if your life is heading downhill, or is already...

OP obviously had some negative effect from smoking, which is why he searched the internet for answers.
The symptoms listed are way too broad. For instance, search for a random psychological disorder on google and review the symptoms listed. I'm sure you will recall experiencing a few at one point in your life, but this doesn't exactly mean you have it. You start overthinking yourself and become an internet hypochondriac claiming you have "x" and "y".
