How to fruit mushrooms.

Hello fellow shroomers!
Im a noob and trying my first grow. I am wondering how do you keep mushrooms reproducing without buying spore syringes everytime? I want to harvest mushrooms but also leave just enough so they continue to produce. I will have them growing on vermiculite, brown rice flour cakes. Aka brf cakes.
thanks

Learn to spore print. Once you get that down you can make your own syringes. Then you can look into agar, strain isolation, and cloning.

welcome to shrooomery lol search around for print taking teks there super simple and once you got 50 posts and 90 days as a member you will have access to the market place which is a great place to trade prints and build your collection so once you learn how to take prints take a bunch, i also would suggst learning agar it's a huge tool around here, if it scares you then look up the brf agar substitute tek, click the search posts at the top and get at 'er

There is this crazy place called the shroomery. Now when you get therethere will a picture of some fruiting mushrooms. Stay with me this is where it gets tricky. There are a few options to choose from. Like trip reports. Mushroom cultivation. And grow mushrooms. Also message board but your actually going to want to stay away from that for a brief period. In the grow mushrooms section there are tons of posts you will find very valuable.
To further educate yourself there is a tool worth its weight in paper in gold at the top which is rarely used for some crazy lazy reason I'll never understand. Scroll to the top blow off the dust and check out search posts. Should be self explanatory from there. If not come on back and we will walk through it...lol
Be in a dick aside for a moment, welcome to the shroomery. Some people gave you some basic info. Agar. Take prints. To be honest though you might want to consider getting a few syringes. This hobby is pretty easy to learn...but that's just it. Its a learning experience. I'm assuming you have never grown a mushroom and well before you can work with a print or making a syringe you gotta make sure you can produce a fruit. I see your starting with brf cakes. A good start and good luck

Thank you for your reply. My apologies, yes I should have searched on shroomery a bit more. I have bought a syringe and have started the process. This is my first attempt to growing them. I would purchase syringes however I have been warned that that can draw attention and is better to fruit them yourself.

My advice is stay away from LCs and GLCs tho your best bet is to buy a couple syringes learn the process try bulk and learn agar. I tried LCs and they work but can be really sketchy

He's asking if you can 'keep a grow fruiting indefinitely' so that he doesn't have to do any more grows. He just wants to keep picking mushrooms off the cakes forever. Atlantica, it doesn't work like that. The cake will run out of nutrients eventually and you'll get contamination. You can't keep a cake going forever.
You'll need to collect the spores from the fruits that grow and make your own syringes. If you can't make reasonably sterile spore prints then you'll need to use agar to culture spores and transfer away from contamination or make clones from mushrooms you like. No one is going to be suspicious of you ordering perfectly legal spores for microscopic research.

Also if you have one syringe already you can make it last for a long long time. Every time you use half of it add more distilled water to it. As long as you don't use every drop on your first project you should be able to keep adding water and extend the life of the spore solution for a long time.

A while but if you're planning for the future you should plan on using it in 3 to 6 months. Though stranger things have happened you shouldn't be banking on using a syringe a year after you ordered it.

Alright, I guess that answers my question. Ill stick with buying syringes in bulk and saving them for future use.

Whats suspicious about ordering syringes? They are sold for microscopy only an there fore are completely legal to posess except in 3 states

Your syringe will last a long time. A year or more. Germination might be slower as time goes on but we're talking a day or two if even. Spore printing is not hard. Print a few of the mushrooms from your first grow and you'll easily have enough syringes to last you until you're willing to get a PC and get into agar work.
