Shock and Awe

Have you ever been shocked about an idea, a truth, or realization ?
how deep was this shock? Ever been completely and utterly mind-shattered?
Robert Anton Wilson shocked to the core, my previously unknown domesticated monkey brain early on in life and seriously altered the way I viewed the world and myself..leading to several mind-shattering realizations and events, the likes of which I can hardly write or speak of..because words cannot describe and would have Icelander and others screaming for evidence (I think those of you that are familiar with my posts may be keen on this ) alas, I attempt to anyway. so what about you? any event, idea, book, or whatever seriously shock and awe and what was it?

it happens: sometimes gently like epiphany that destroys acres of accumulated mental crap, and sometimes like the falls of thor's hammer bending your metal to a new resistant shape like a tool to cut through humanity with a new purpose (whose purpose?).
in both cases the landscape is cleared and ideas are replaced.
you can try to keep the realm simple - close to recently cleared format, to enjoy the benefits of uncluttered thinking.
I hate it that the "americans" (thor's hammer wielders)usually move in and take over everything - makes you dream of the planes coming again.

The tooth fairy completely rocked my world. Don't ask for evidence or it may unrock.

When i first realized everything was connected my life was changed forever. I dont know if this is a thors hammer or a gentle epiphany or any other of the infinite possibilities in a phrase...but i have never been the same.
This changed me drastically because i felt directly responsible to the universe for my actions. For the first time, i understood how fragile we are and how each little event and atom is directly connected. The future depends on these events.
I realized through analyzing myself that for survival we develop calluses or armor if you will, in response to "attacks". Poetically, physically and whatever way you wanna look at it. That being said, to this day i make sure to give off kindness, and love in general as my own contribution to "everything".
For example: A smile has energy. It increases the positive flow of energy in the recipient and the smiler so something as tiny as sharing a smile, can have a domino effect that spirals infinitely...just like not making eye contact with people you pass by in the street (the norm around my parts).
Also the lack of love in our society shocks me and scares me.

Fragile.
Let's just say that particular reality on that particular day was not a good mind blower.

Maybe when we ignore the red fags over many years, we shouldn't have done that.

I was listening so intensely last night that I heard another voice. Can't remember what it said but it sounded mean. Shocking, yes, as I was sober. But what was the cause? Did I dive so deep into the present that a piece of my thought process seemed to appear as a separate entity? Not too awe inspiring but yeah, shocking to the core.

No shock or awe ever...just realizing and continuing...the old paradigm never dies completely to us.
-------------------- "A warrior is a hunter. He calculates everything. That's control. Once his calculations are over, he acts. He lets go. That's abandon. A warrior is not a leaf at the mercy of the wind. No one can push him; no one can make him do things against himself or against his better judgment. A warrior is tuned to survive, and he survives in the best of all possible fashions." ― Carlos Castaneda

Honestly no book I've ever read has produced real shock and awe like a psychedelic or occult experience has. Whenever I've read a "paradigm-shifting" book, I've always been in the prior mindset that was more-or-less ready for it.

Words cannot describe, yet Wilson's words were shocking to the core.
