I think its dumb.
Is there actually a decent life lesson buried in it? or is it another harry potter blockbuster gay bullshit?

I enjoyed the first one. I mean yeah it was kinda cheesy but it was entertaining. I've got a gift card to the movie theater and jack shit to do tonight...

Saw it. I thought it was good, although not quite as good as the first. If you've read the book it'll be interesting to see it play out on the screen.

I've only seen the first one but IMO there's no similarity to Harry Potter at all aside from being adapted from books aimed at a roughly similar target market. It's a dystopian future kind of story and the Harry Potter series is fantasy with wizards, witches and magic. The main message seems to be one of resisting totalitarianism.

It's a bullshit ripoff of Battle Royal that caters to teenage girls and has a story that holds together poorly... shit even in the trailer for the new one I noticed the "bad guys" holding P90's. I don't usually give a shit about guns as I don't have much interest in them but what the fuck for an alternate universe you give the lame baddies modern weapons? in a world with super-advance medical futuristic shit and whatnot?

Saw it today, was interesting and had some cool creepy moments, my main concerns were as follows...
- Too many orcs dying got old quick
- Not enough dialogue from frodo
- Long length of 160 minutes without any resolution
And somebody shouldda tripped that elf ho.
Otherwise it was fun.

Yup, it was alright. The third book had much more action so I'm hoping the third movie is the same. Second book and movie just a bunch of drama pretty much

False
The plot is unoriginal and gay, even if you leave Battle Royal out of the argument. The whole dystopian future/authoritarian government thing has been done to death. The lady who wrote the books is a mediocre writer at best. People just have terrible taste in books and movies these days.

Thank you. It's just an overused theme re-skinned to appeal to a young female audience. Aren't they selling toys in kids meals now?

Exactly. It falls into the same category as Harry Potter and Twilight, and all those other series; Trash Fiction. I'm honestly tempted to make one myself, I'd be set for life. All you need is a very basic conflict, a love triangle and BAM you are good to go.
I'm just sick of motherfuckers telling me how amazing it is. It's like go read a real book...............I'm sorry I'm drunk and angry, I had to get that out.
