It doesn't address the dealers. Have you ever been friends with a drug dealer? Decriminalization only addresses the user and not the dealer. The dealers will still face LONG jail sentences, sometimes worse than murderers. I have seen people with second degree murder face way less severe sentences than the drug dealers in jail, and you have not shown me that decriminalizing these drugs will change this. Unless you think dealers are horrible people and deserve these sentences then that is a different story.

I've known many, many drug dealers, yes.  They know the risks and still take them for money...that's the game.  It'd be nice if sentences were less, but I don't really have a whole lot of sympathy for drug dealers.  They sell shit to people without fully disclosing what they're selling in most cases, and rarely do they fully inform the buyer of the risks.

In a legalized society the "drug dealers" run the liquor stores or hand out cigarettes at gas stations.. The only reason you see them that way is because of prohibition. They are forced to work this way because that's how the "game" works that prohibition creates.

Are you saying that drug dealers sell nbome as acid because they have no choice but to lie to customers?  Are you saying that they give free samples of diesel as charity?  Please.  Dealers know how to get and keep customers.

no. in fact i don't believe any law could completely address any complex societal problem like drugs. but some laws are better than others, and in my view i think that legalization would be the best set of laws to address the problem at hand. addiction and possession charges for users is only part of the problem. we need to dismantle the economies that feed organizations that are our enemies who are actively plotting against us. what blows me away is the fact that people who hate drugs can't see that legalizing them would keep tons of money out of the hands of the taliban, the cartels etc.

People who hate drugs are blinded by emotions.  You can't expect them to be rational.

The real difference between our opinions comes from one basic disagreement we have.  I believe that drug legalization will increase drug use.  In the case of heroin, I believe it will increase addiction significantly.  Addiction is what I'd like to see reduced as much as possible.

You don't think it would increase addiction, and I understand your reasons.  My reasons are equally rational, however, and we disagree.  We're probably always going to disagree.  I'm okay with that, and I'm confident you are as well.

It isn't about believing or not believing.  Anyone with eyes can see that the guy's megalomania is compensating for an insecurity, but most people are mature and considerate enough not to rub it in his face.

I submit that your need to attack him where he is obviously most vulnerable is an attempt to counter your own insecurities by attacking his.

I never would have mentioned the fact that I am wealthy, beautiful, athletic and brilliant if it were not for the accusations of others that I am some kind of pathetic junky retard. If one makes insulting accusations on the basis of no evidence (and which have no relation to the topic at hand) one must be prepared to confront the reality that such assumptions may be totally incorrect . That is why it is better to discuss the topic and ideas in a thread instead of insulting the poster. If you talk about the ideas a debate can ensue. If you make baseless assumptions about the life situation of the poster , you end up soliciting truths that may make you uncomfortable, in addition to being irrelevant to the discussion.

With regards to the OP , although I sing the praises of many drugs based on my own beneficial and therapeutic experiences with them , I did not say that I use these substances regularly or frequently. Many I have only done once or twice, others I have not done for years.

If one assumed I was using all those drugs regularly and frequently, it would make sense to assume I have a drug problem. But instead this letter to my brother was an autobiography of drug use , recollecting lessons learned through a lifetime of experimentation. Yet in my day to day life I use only Kratom to enhance my mood and productivity in the daytime, coffee or tea in the mornings, and occasionally etizolam when I want to enhance my sleep or improve my performance in professional or social situations.

Ketamine, MDMA and psychedelics should best be used a few times a year maximum, marijuana once a week or so would probably be ideal (although I am taking an extended break), alcohol should be left alone entirely or saved for holidays only, and hard drugs like meth, heroin, tobacco, amphetamines, synthetic carthinones and synthetic cannibinoids should never be used at all, in my opinion.

One should always plan ones drug use in such a way that physical dependency on any substance is impossible . This typically means never using the same drug on successive days, allowing a given drug to completely clear your system before using it again.

I was a daily weed smoker for a decade, the only drug I used daily. Although I never developed a physical addiction or withdrawal , I have decided to take a long break . I basically feel like I have had my fill of it, and smoked as much weed as anyone really needs to in one lifetime.

Perhaps after a year of abstinence I will reintroduce it, using vaporizer or edibles only, keeping my use to only once a week in the context of a spiritual sacrament - marijuana use is sacred to Shiva in Hindu cosmology , and has such impressive medical benefits that I probably won't deprive myself of it forever. It's anti cancer and neuro-genesis properties are too valuable.

"We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?' Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."

Wow thats a rare moment of peacefulness on the shroomery:lol:
I'm just rooting for weed legalization and then if other drugs get legalized in my lifetime (highly doubtful)  then hopefully they will be some of the more benign ones.
I believe in decriminalization of personal amounts of drugz.

I am certain you are right about that!

It's partly the way instantly changes the way users think and make decisions that makes it so addictive and dangerous. That first rush is so euphoric and seductive that for many the rest is a forgone conclusion.

It's been very educational watching how your life has changed since you first did meth bitter cactus.

What's that supposed to mean?

A lot more than meth has influenced the last six months. More I would say has to do with jail. I haven't actually gone at it for a month so it really hasn't been a huge part of my life.

What's it supposed to mean? Exactly what I said. It has been very educational knowing you and reading your posts before you first used meth and then your posts during and after and as your use goes on . I have learned a lot from studying the developments in your life, the events, your thought processes, the consequences of your actions, how your situation has changed etc as meth became part of your life.
