The Great Cricket Hoax

There are audio files floating around the net that have cricket sounds backed by what appears to be a choir. The hoax part is that the choir-like sounds are also supposed to be cricket sounds slowed way down.
Note: I am not going to link these MP3s.
These clips are supposed to make us find glory in God and believe that the crickets are not making mere mating calls, but are glorifying The Creator. Of course the choir is actually a choir or multiple overdubs of a single singer.
There is no limit to the number of people who swallow this nonsense whole. This gullibility is not limited to insect sounds, but can be witnessed here and in M&P regarding Ancient Aliens, UFOs, crop circles, chakras, chi, horoscopes and so forth.
Critical thinking appears to be in short supply.

Even if they really did sound like choir singers when slowed down, my response would be "so the fuck what?" Lots of things can be heavily distorted to sound like lots of other things.
"Wow, when you completely change the frequency of vibrations on a recording, it sounds like something else! Holy shit! "

Somehow the sounds were supposed to show creativity and soulfulness. A slowed down cricket chirp sounds like running your fingernail across the teeth of a comb.

God created crickets. Crickets praise God through song.....how is that not logical
Yet more proof of intelligent design.....

Another long held belief shattered by OC. I feel so jaded now... before long you'll probably be debunking Carlos Castaneda...that's all I have left...

OC has debunked you repeatedly...just for chuckles...in front of the whole shroomery.

Spot on.
Anyone with a good sound-editing program care to share what cricket sounds actually sound like while slowed down?
In the meantime I'll be doing third eye meditation accompanied by the sweet sound of God's own cricket choir lifting my soul into the Godhead via my Crown Chakra.
