I'm not sure if it's the lighting, but those caps look black and the stems look heavily bruised; I'd have to say these pins are aborting.

Yeah, I don't know what's up with this batch. Caps are dark from pin, crack, and then heal over. Humidity issues. Turned golden when mature.
But, yes, there is significant "bruising" on the stems. I quote that because besides misting, I haven't actually handled them.
Even though they show obvious bluing they continue to grow.

Humidity issues.

How do you know that's all it is?
Do you have any other cube varieties in the GH at the moment to compare?
If it's already diagnosed and as easy a fix as a humidity issue... why not fix it?

This is a variety of B+ I've been growing for several months. Seeing them behave in this manner, as far as bluing is concerned, is new to me. I wasn't dismissing the bluing to humidity issues, only the cracking caps. I've been misting on a regular schedule to keep my R/H up.

I don't know what's causing the bluing. I've never seen it before, except when they abort, but like I said, these are growing noticeably in a matter of hours. It's interesting, nonetheless.

Update:

I can't imagine the bluing is just from misting...
Seem to be rather dwarved, too.

We do not mist for humidity, we mist to replace lost moisture in the substrate.

We fan out the chamber afterwards to promote evaporation of the water we just misted, which in turn should raise the humidity.

However, this should not be your only source of humidity.

It's either from the substrate drying out, or you are misting too hard....

Mind you, paired with a coolmist that's on 24/7. I do rehydrate the substrates , this also leaves a lot of surface water on walls / shelves, etc. Fanning out the chamber afterward always puts my r\h around 99% now for a period of about 90 minutes.
I'm without a ultrasonic humidifier right now, which I think is necessary for adequately maintaining 99% with minimal to no effort in a chamber this size.

They can't be dry, not as often as I mist... perhaps the 750ml water bottle has too much horsepower

How are you measuring RH?

Also, I just posted the how-to for my GH.

Check it out!

Awesome work on your write-up, man!
I am measuring R/H using an analogue hydrometer I picked up from a grow shop locally.

With ONLY the coolmist in my greenhouse, R/H was simply inadequate.
The mushies said it all, dry caps, dry shrinking subs, the air saturation being sub-par really put on strain on how efficiently these little guys grow.
This is a picture of what most of my B+ harvests looked like after being picked and plagued by low R/H and drying out subs. Nothing like a B+ and a weird pale and blued complexion from misting too hard as well.

I finally decided it was time to get an ultrasonic in my GH. I sprung for one, set it up in inside and within 15 minutes my R/H was pegged.
I dialed it in over the course of a couple days.
I have it set to go off for ~15 minutes every hour. It rolls out a nice fog like nobody's business. I never see my R/H below 99% now.
I also have an aux fan running 24/7 inside paired with my original coolmist that are always on for constant FAE.
My mushies seem a lot happier and now that I have the environment set up to a hospitable setting for these little dudes they're taking off.

Here's a couple pin porn pics:

This was an experiment to see how even a pinset I would get in my G/H without adding a casing layer. They're huge and healthy, but the pinset was poor without the casing layer, not to mention this sub was subject to low humidity before I purchased my ultrasonic.

This bulk substrate is doing remarkably well. I added a casing layer to it and started fruiting at the same time as the sub above. It's pinset is hard to see in the pictures, but there's literally 100's of pinheads poking up. Much better than just a handful of clusters on the other sub.

I'm also doing some experiments, in which I've been taking detailed notes on with plans to share what knowledge I learn with the Shroomery, I'm pretty stoked about it and so far it's been a very interesting, enlightening experience. I'll let you guys in on that when my research has got a little more weight behind it though.

Happy Shrooming. :blazed:

Glad I could help mate.

Looks like you got it done right now!

Careful running your ultrasonic too much as it will flood your substrates at some point.

Good job

I noticed the over-condensation issue the first night I had it in there.
I had the timer set to run the ultrasonic on full-blast 15 minutes every hour with the lights off.
I have 3 7800k bulbs in there right now that basically heat the greenhouse and are a big contribution to evaporation.
When they're off over-saturation was evident as the GH is in my bedroom next to my bed and I had the pleasure of hearing the intermittent drip of water hitting my aux fan beading off the wire shelves.
So, I timed it to be off most of the time the lights are and kept an eye on my R/H for a night and all was and has been seemingly well since.

Cool way to help introduce evaporation.

Of course, just make sure your subs aren't getting too hot.

i.e. above like 80F

Heating a fruiting chamber is fail.

All the humidity is turned into condensation.

*Basically. Not intended to actually provide a heat source by any means. Simply an operating factor.

My temps are still 72-75 consistently.
