Question about perlite rehydration periods

Ive heard that perlite can be rehydrated once every month, is once a month too long a stretch? Also should perlite be rehydrated more often in the winter season than in the summer season (since winters are dryer than summers) ?

Every time you mist your cakes the perlite should get misted as well.
This should happen at least twice daily.
Misting the perlite daily, it will take a long time for it to dry out.
I like to boil it between grows....but no need to rehydrate during a grow.
Just mist it.

I just taught a friend how to do cakes, and his perlite dried out every three days. I had him hose it down in the shower every third day, no joke. I don't think it's fair to claim that you'll never need to rehydrate during a grow when that's so obviously dependent on climate.
The average morning humidity where you live is 80%. The climate for your region is called a humid continental climate. Misting may be enough for you, but some of us live in places where towels and perlite dry themselves.
OP, stick your finger in the perlite. If it's wet you win, and if it isn't just drench it with something. The timeframe matters much less than the fact that dry perlite is too dry and wet perlite is just right.

I have also experienced this except for me it was more like every week and a half or so.
OP. Rehydrate when the perlite feels dry / in between grows. Whichever comes first. However, misting the shit out of the perlite a few times a day should definitely delay the drying process even in my 5% humidity environment it sure helped a lot.

PS. Laughing with you. I just reread this and realized it could be misconstrued.
