Tampanensis Monotub

Would doing a 64 Qt Monotub of 7 Qts of Tampanensis work, or is it better to put them in smaller containers in a SGFC?
What would be a good substrate if I were to go either route? I've never worked with this strain before. I am looking for fruits mainly, not stones per se.

If you're going for fruits, I'd assume you might want to use smaller containers, but I really dont know. I'd imagine you should be able to find some threads about tampanensis growing if you search a little.

I have searched for it but I am confused a little. I think that they are wood lovers but I'm not sure. I've never seen a monotub grow though.

No P. tampanensis is not a wood lover. It is most likely synonymous with P. mexicana. So search advice for mexicana and you can extrapolate what you need.

They are certainly not wood lovers. Here is a very informative guide to sclerotia and fruiting them as well http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/13431948#13431948
However doesn't say anything about monos. I have been looking a little myself on that. I believe you can with a sub of 2"... that is all the further I have gotten for info so far though lol

Good reading, Thanks.

Although violets teks are very informative, a lot of her methods are subject to questioning. So be careful with the information you gather.

Thanks for the heads up. I've already seen things that she has changed her tune many times since this write up that she's done.

No problem. Good luck and let me know if you find anything else out about Tamps in monos!

If you look in Stonesun's Journal, you'll see he's grown many of the Sclerotia producing species in a variety of ways.
I think this one will be of particular interest for you:

What "a lot" is subject to questioning?
And what about that truffle tek in particular? That's practically just an inclusive write-up on the way most people here do sclerotia.

I'm not going to break out a fight here but I am going to sterilize some manure/straw/coir/gypsum and go from there.
Let's close this thread before it becomes a big indifference.
Thanks to ALL of you that have contributed. Thanks a bunch.

P. tampanensis will fruit better in an SGFC than a mono, but a mini-GH would be ideal. They love their fresh air.

I bought one of those cool mist thingys and it crapped out on me after like 2 or 3 months. My greenhouse bit the dust because it had no diagonals in it and I overloaded it. I have reused some pieces of the broken one to make it anti tippable. I still have the brand new cover but I put up the old one and taped up the holes (ghetto)

The coolmist was a primary item in the way this thing worked and I can't buy one in good faith. RR even mentioned something about them not lasting long.

I used to use that exact GH but I hate those flimsy shelves.
My evaporative humidifiers last at least a year running 24/7 in my house...they are the same ones I use in my GH, and I just get the cheapest ones I can find at the local department stores
I just always have to remember to replace the filter before it gets nasty
