Microscope Vs Endoscope
    #19185209 - 11/25/13 12:45 AM (10 years, 2 months ago)

Hey all,

just wondering if there is a big difference with a microscope/endoscope.

I'm hoping to get one that has some sort of computer connectivity in order to save digital files.

The work I'm doing is mainly for spore photography for national records and personal interest.

The endoscopes seem to be cheaper and provide up to 800x magnification. The microscope seem to be much more serious and can go up to 1000x.

Price is kinda important right now but if it makes a real difference I'll shell out some more.

Just hoping someone here has had experience with both and can offer some insight.

Cheers

You will need 1000x.

If you want to do microscopy I'd recommend a microscope :smirk:

Endoscopes are good for looking inside things (like a colon) but a microscope is good for looking at small things.

If you buy a microscope get one with a 100x oil immersion objective (which will give you 1000x magnification with a 10x eyepiece).
