Bacteria :(

Can a single colinized grain be hiding bacteria ?

Is there a visible sign that you have a bacteria problem on BRF (as an agar substitute)?

Yes.

Bacteria on grain can be seen, but is also given away by smell as well. Some bacteria colonizes white.

Ok well any visible signs on the BRF "petri's" ? Or do you just transfer until you feel like you beat it?

Yes BRF petris. 5g BRF 16cc water. I don't have agar yet so this is the next best thing I could find.

Im assuming its in a jar.

Bacteria is going to be hard to pick out with that set up.

You should check out Prof. P's No Pour Agar Tek

Agar is cheap as hell if you order it online. And its worth every penny.

Odor and discoloration usually. BRF 'agarless agar' isn't very good for detecting bacteria in comparison to real agar. There are also some molds which may not grow on it but still grow in spawn, although the common ones all seem to grow on it.
