Kratom leaf propogation

I was reading a bit about propagation from trees with only a leaf: http://www.ces.ncsu.edu/hil/hil-8700.html When I take cuttings from kratom tree I usually end up plucking a few leaves off the cutting, so I thought it would be interesting if I attempted to root them as well. This only works for plants with adventitious buds. I was curious if anyone knew if this leaf propagation would work with mitraganya speciosa.
Thanks.

I haven't heard a word on it from anything I've read. Goodluck, you could revolutionize the whole kratom growing process ! Keep us updated!

I have heard of one person from the US that noticed roots forming from the underside of one of his Mitragyna speciosa cuttings.

Roots forming under a leaf? That seems hopeful. If kratom has adventitious buds then maybe this will work.

I'm pretty sure you could root a leaf. Will it grow into a tree? I doubt it. But there is reason to experiment in all our work.

This is what I was thinking. I think it will probably root, but will not produce another plant. Unless a botanist tells me it definitely won't work with kratom, I'll still give it a go.

I saw this one dude on a dead forum years ago who rooted a marijuana. I guess for shits and giggles and it went nowhere. Just for fun I guess.

Yeah, I wish I knew more about botany so that I could determine whether this would work ahead of time, but my research thus far hasn't yielded much. It's hard to find information regarding kratom trees specifically. I think I read somewhere that kratom replaces plucked leaves, but I don't know what the chances of producing adventitious buds from a leaf are.
