Backround checks
    #19183777 - 11/24/13 05:55 PM (10 years, 2 months ago)

I just started a job and I don't even know where to start with the level of bullshit there is. I want to quit. If I were to quit and did not list this job on my resume, would background checks done by future employers show I was employed there?

Depends on the employer.

In Canada, there is a 99.999% chance they wouldn't notice. IMO you should quit the job and not deal with the negativity and bullshit.

edit: I think it would depend on the job

Yeah I want to, I just don't want it coming back to bite me in the ass. This is the first job I landed in the field of work I am going to school for.

Try and find a new job before you quit.

How long have you been there OP?  If it's a job in your field you should at least give it a fair chance which IMO is 3-6 months.

i don't think it's a problem to omit it from your resume. if someone does ask just say that you weren't there long and it wasn't a good fit.

^this

Also, give them your two weeks notice before you quit. Don't just tell them to fuck off.

It shouldn't be a problem if you omit ever woking there from your resume, and your next employers are unlikely to ever know or even inquire about it, but in the very unlikely chance that they go snooping around somehow and figure out and they call your former employers it wont look bad on you.

Typically former employers only tell new employers the dates you worked for their company, your position and pay, whether or not you gave them notice before you quit, and whether or not you were fired.
