Salvia divinorum. How does it look?

Just got it in the mail. How does it look? The stems have a dark color. Should I be worried? The leaves are dying, but there seem to be little new leaves sprouting underneath them. So: comments? Suggestions?
Thanks in advance, Cheers!

You got that in the mail? How much did you pay for it? In my opinion it does not look good. Salvia cuttings HATE change. Especially if they arent pre-acclimated, so they almost always get sad looking when they change locations. And the fact that the stem is browning is a bad sign. With all the leaves falling off too, it really just doesnt look good.
But still i wish you the best of luck. Its not uncommon for them to bounce back and do fine, so ill send you positive vibes that it might survive.
The best advice i have is to try not to baby it too much, shes real fussy and alot of times seems to prefer to be left alone. The more you mess with it, the worse off it will probably be.

I know they hate change. I have a nice large plant that was killed by spider mites from a bag of miracle gro. (NEVER again)...

There is my last pic of her...
I may have overstated how the browning is happening. It is literally a fraction of a millimeter on the corners of the square stem where it was resting on the glass jar it is in... The leaves are dying, but I am not so worried about that because under them a new pair of leaves is sprouting, so as long as they develop normally, I don't think I ought to worry. I am keeping it out of the sun, in the shade of my desk. Should I add rooting hormone or not yet? I took some toilet paper and made a pillow to prevent the jar from chafing the stem...
How about a humidity dome? Anything I could do to ensure she can survive? I am getting some soil on Monday, so I will sterilize it, and plant it...

I'd just leave it alone until it grows roots. It may not look healthy but a long as the stem is intact with roots, it should put out new growth acclimated to your conditions. Once it starts rootingot it into soil.
