Could we make use of a Psilocybe "SPECIES" thread?

Hi everyone!
First, we need this clarification: NOT a Cube Strain Thread, but a Psilocybe Species Thread. A thread about mushrooms that are truely different from one another, in many ways.
See Wikipedia for ALL the possibilities: List of psilocybin mushrooms - Psilocybe Genus ...or see my journal post in progress...
***I realize Pans are of interest for some although they are not like the Psilocybe Genus, they are Psilocybin Containing Mushrooms, but not Psilocybes... If logic dictates, they'd be included in my info... No worries***
Cultivation methods vary greatly when you start exploring this realm. But you can gain access to better genetics!!!! Some worth trying and others maybe not...
----editted in a few days after the thread started---- So far CaptainFuture's Journal: Link's to his Collection of successful grows so far has been put forward as being what I am looking for. It is a great place to start!!! Awesome Log! Though I have yet to find a comparison chart of potency vs trip quality vs grow difficulty though, I'll keep looking. In his teks, of course people ask him about potency but I don't know if he made a symposium of all his observations in one page... ----------------------
The first thing you will discover when exploring this is that not all of them are made for indoor growths, Cubes often chosen for this reason (amongst more reasons).
Also, you will discover that some of them CAN be grown as Cubes: Search the forum for "Just As Easy As Cubes" posts by Stonesun.
***Many of them REQUIRE outdoor growing techniques***
Some offer much greater potency than Psilocybe Cubensis Mushrooms, but may be harder to cultivate and may require more agar isolation work.
I wonder if some also give true subtle differences in trip quality that an experimentalist may be interested in.
Thanks for answering the poll and leaving your comments!

Nice post but then there are loads and loads of threads about the various active species if you search

I vote yes, trip quality and potency for indoor species are my main interests, if some of them are worth trying.
Maybe this thread isn't in the best format to build what I'm trying to build as a database. We'll see how it goes for now and I may have a different idea later...
Cheers

If people are growing a specific species of Psilocybe mushroom other than cubensis, they almost always specify this at the beginning of their threads.
I can understand why you think a separate thread for them would help, but making a separate thread would probably just be redundant.
There is absolutely tons of information about growing every kind of species worth cultivating on the threads already; from cubes, pans, sclerotium formers, wood-lovers, etc. It's all here.

That's true, can't dissagree. But to have it all in one place is good also IMO.

I'd like to see a BRF forum devoted to people who are growing cakes and are just starting out. Every time I click on a thread that has BRF in the opening line, I dismiss it right away.
There are tons of people who start a thread about being a "noob" but when I was a "noob" I was already into tubs.
I don't mean to sound arrogant, but people get confused when a poster doesn't know what method of growing they are doing and it makes the helpers confused until they find out.

True. Confusion is present. That's why I love "The Shroomery... Magic Mushrooms Demysified" Though thanks to all the volunteer shroomerites, lots of demystifying is being done also. Yes?
I just hope that this is what I'm doing!

Based on these statemtents, it's safe to say you have a lot of learning to do.
This idea has been tossed around before, it never goes anywhere.
If mush cult needs a sticky, the mods will put it up. It's not really a "community voted" thing.
There is plenty of information readily available, use the search engine.

Don't necessarily need to be a sticky, I'm neutral, I can do the research for myself but if ever there is hi interest in having comparisons of different species all gathered on one page, I'd be willing to work on it and add it to my signature.

Well have at it, you certainly don't need community approval to try to add knowledge to our site
The issue is that most members have little interest in exotic species. Mush cult ends up being about 90% cube-related.

The exotics tend to be very strong, i love them as well The "challenge" as compared to cubensis is attractive as well.

i love exotics, such a challenge but thats also the problem, a sticky would just be loaded with failures, i've attempted many and failed myself but the key is learning what did and didn't work and never giving up. people like captain future and psylosimon are are a rare bread around here

I find the challenge attractive as well... Although some of the best growers here have took on this challenge with some species with zero success. And lots of exotics don't grow indoors, or can even kill you with poison. Serious stuff. I mostly hope to provide info for those who are attracted by the challenge while still giving them realistic expectations... As to make sure they don't waste their energies. Also I hope newbs understand they should start with what they are comfortable with and that there is nothing wrong with p. Cubes... Thank God for p. Cubes!... Imagine if we were still drinking piss from amanita eating shamans lol

So far I have 3 names to look into, Stonesun, Psilocymon, and Captain Future... This is building up
