i made 4 jars smelt super sweet when i opened it so i tossed it the other 2 where fine and the last one had a big wet looking spot in the middle so i took it outside to dunk it away from the others. (it smelt fine) well i put the others and forgot about that one for about 3 days. after sitting out side for three days a bunch of slimy almost clear white tent gel grew on it. but a bunch of mushrooms did also. there are a lot of pins and one massive musshie that has a tear in it. i think it absorbed to much water. there is tons of blue bruising. any help is much appreciated... thx and sorry for the grammar dabs are a bitch haha

Do you have any pics of that? I'm not knowledgeable and won't be able to offer advice or anything, but I'm quite curious and would like to see what you mean.

I have also seen it. It is normal. In my experience though I've only had it after the second flush. The nice thing about a shotgun FC is that if one cake gets contaminated you can just toss it without too much worry. Don't get me wrong. A contam in the FC is not good news but your cakes arn't going to magically all get trich just because of one water logged brother. Go ahead and fruit it with the others and at the first sign of problems toss it. No biggie. Wish I could have seen this 'wet spot' though since that sounds a little unusual.
