Galileo probe & sun
    #1917945 - 09/15/03 01:34 PM (14 years, 6 months ago)

On 21 September, the Galileo probe will plunge into Jupiter's stormy clouds to be consumed by heat and pressure. It has to be destroyed so that any stowaway microbes on the probe do not contaminate Europa, one of Jupiter's moons, on which there may be life. so.....why cant we send trash and nuclear waste to the sun? wouldnt everything eventually evaporate? isnt the sun a giant nuclear ball anyway?

one has lived from an endless past and will live into an endless future. at this very moment one partakes of Eternal Life-blissful, luminous, pure.

You want to pay for sending trash into the sun? You have any idea how much that would cost?

"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end, for they do so with the approval of their own conscience." - C.S. Lewis
