Abm. Took me almost tree years and four seperate attempts. I realize we won't be growing this one commercially any time soon but it was fun to add to the list

What kind of casing did you use ? Did you note the PH of the casing? Did you pasteurizer the casing? Do you know where the strain was collected?
The only time I got this mushroom to fruit it occurred just as the mycleium made it to the top surface of the casing. The mushroom formed just below the surface and was large when it appeared.

Impressive!
I wish those were easier to grow...

Well.... There is a lot of shit in it including composted poo, bran, straw and perlite, gypsum, and soybean waste from a local tempeh company. Yes perlite. Helped with its tendency to stall by keeping it fluffy and aerated. I figured out about using perlite from my cube growing days. poo is just too dense. Needs some fluff. I have a dozen more bags do I hope to at least have some to dry. cased with lime bath soaked peat. We are now doing all our casing in lime bath rather than adding powered lime and we have been pleased. Actually are getting away with casing bags that have a touch of trich and seems to knock the trich back good.

Very nice, AV. I have thrown out abm bags twice after just giving up in despair. Enjoy the fruits of your labor!

Wow. They get big! I am tempted to make a spore print or two. I am desperately trying to quell the urge to clone one.

Wow, those got big quick!
Apparently they're so medicinal, somebody wrote a whole book on them. Well, it's like 40 pages, but...

They are friggin' dense man. How much are these things worth a pound? I ate them cooked in butter scrambled in eggs. They are really sweet with a truffley aftertaste. I like em.

i see that porcini and matsutake go for $38/lb shipped. so I wouldn't take anything less than $40/lb since I don't see anywhere to buy them fresh online. if indeed they are comparable taste wise, which it sounds like they are. Now I really wanna get some of these going next summer!

Great. Three years of work and I make ten bucks? Way to go drake I think would be grow out a bunch of spawn this spring nd when it gets hot do some cased outdoor beds maybe in plastic tunnels. I ran these at 80-85 degrees (heat bomb ) 24 hrs a day and they loved it. I believe they are from the tropical lowlands of brazil where it gets real friggin hot. When I visited the Brazilian pantenal a while back temps were 90 degrees at night! But that was in the dry season.
mushroom god breakfast. My daughter loved it.

Second flush. This makes four large fruits from this block. Not bad. Cooler temps seem to induce second flush. I dropped temps from 80 to 65 and they pinned in one week.
