LSD and the Light

It's pretty remarkable. I tripped last night in pitch black and could see light from the back of my head/eyes...Like it was a fountain or a stream flowing from a spot in my body that I know is there but can't directly see
What is the light from LSD from a brain/organ perspective ?

Hmm....interesting question.
Well, light is a stimulus that is observed by rods and cones in the retina, right? And then the rods and cones give this data to the brain, which is able to produce a unified image of perception (look up the binding problem if you're interested, about combining multiple brain parts to produce one perception).
So really light is processed by the eyes and a multitude of areas of the brain. I'm not sure how you could see light in the dark unless one of two things happened. 1) your eyes tricked themselves. or 2) your brain is going through a process that is paired to recognizing light.
I've never had this on LSD. I have had extreme emphasis of light though, but never re-creation.

Or he experienced a hallucination of what people refer to as the light or the ineffable.

dunno... but I believe in a bit more than that
take as much LSD as you can, the last emotion is love, infinite love for all, new person afterwards
love is what we are, everything else is what we create against ourselves
just remember

I have seen some strange lights that don't exist... I have no idea what it means or what causes it, but it is an interesting question.
I was just under the assumption that LSD screws with the way your eyes process information (and brain, obviously) so it misinterprets some things, like flashes of light or hallucinations.

in yoga or meditation, the breath (prana) is watched, and as it is watched energy seems to build (which may just be the overlaid trails of several moments of observation of the breath at some point in the body) anyway this breath energy or prana, could also be called spirit or pneuma (and that ties back to pneumatics which deals with air pressure and streams of fluid or gas)
after doing meditation you may have the impression that you can see your own body full of light(s) possibly like an alex grey painting (http://alexgrey.com/art/paintings/) or maybe not so elaborate.
since lsd or other psychs tend to layer up your experiencing (quashing the sense of time passing as lengthening moments overlap) similar to meditation, I would not be surprised that you find your body full of light.
it's probably prana - aka gas.
