Does opening contam jars under water really work?

I have some jars that I already PC'd to kill the contams. I can't really take them outside because of neighbors but I'm worried about opening them indoors mainly because of my health. And also even though they've been PC'd I still don't like the idea of opening them anywhere near the grow space

If you PC'd them the contams are dead. Molds which are your main airborne concern will be easily killed by pasteurization, so pressure cooking will kill em twice I used to do the whole underwater open thing and all that would happen is the air would just rise up in big bubbles, which if there were mold spores in said bubbles would release them when they got to the surface anyway.

Jars are anything but cheap when you toss them every time you get a contam.
Sterilize contaminated jars, dump them, wash them, reuse them.

Also don't forget to crucify the jar to make sure it's holy!

Jars are useful for so many purposes why waste the glass!

Maybe for people doing pf tek. And even then it's still unnecessary waste. I'm far from an environmentalist or "treehugger" or whatever you want to call it but it really bothers me when people can't do something as simple as putting glass etc. into a recycling bin.

If you PC'd then just open and dump like others suggested.
I didn't know others, besides me, suggested opening under water. I only suggest this to those who don't want/can't sterilize contaminated jars. All it does is keep spores from flying about. It is not intended to kill them.
