Interesting how a thread started by a new member who never even comes back to it can generate so much useful conversation

I have some chicken dowels (laetiporus coniferola). I can give them away or trade them.
I don't know if there are any teks for expanding dowels to Liquid Culture, but I'm sure they'll go to sawdust or wood chips. Perhaps to bulk grains.
I will be experimenting.

I'll take a couple L coniferola dowels. Did you buy them or culture them yourself? I'll just toss them on agar to make sure they're still clean, then noc a test jar with agar for GLC use later.

Im not trying to mislead you here man, just save you some frustration. I've been this for a year. Of course I've tried buckets and poking holes. I had a 50lb tub of sawdust at one point. Fact is, they succumb to trich well before fruiting. but hey, I'm not here to stop you from experimenting.

Don't worry drake, I didn't take it that way. Once I set my mind to a task, it's near impossible for me to get discouraged, even by failure. Side-tracked, now that's a different story. Hell, I've gotten side-tracked 5 times already this far into this post!
What was your procedure with the buckets? I don't mean to be annoying with all the question, but there is such a lack of proper information, other than the one paper. I know Aloha popped in on your thread. I'd like to read any of their info on cultivating COTW as well, if there is any.
Know, of to watch the 50th Anniversary Doctor Who show.
