The Ten Commandmends of Torah were originally the Yamas, changed later by the nazis

The ten traditional commandments are

1.Ahimsa (अहिंसा): Nonviolence. Abstinence from injury that arises out of love for all, harmlessness, the not causing of pain to any living creature in thought, word, or deed at any time. This and Satya (सत्य) are the "main" yama. The other eight are there in support of its accomplishment.
2.Satya (सत्य): truthfulness, word and thought in conformity with the facts, honesty.
3.Asteya (अस्तेय): non-stealing, non-coveting, non-entering into debt.
4.Brahmacharya (ब्रह्मचर्य): being constantly aware of the universe, immersed in divinity, divine conduct, continence, celibate when single, faithfulness when married.
5.Kshama (क्षमा): patience, releasing time, functioning in the now.
6.Dhriti (धृति): steadfastness, overcoming non-perseverance, fear, and indecision; seeing each task through to completion.
7.Daya (दया): compassion; conquering callous, cruel and insensitive feelings toward all beings.
8.Arjava (अर्जव): honesty, straightforwardness, renouncing deception and wrongdoing.
9.Mitahara (मितहार): moderate appetite, neither eating too much nor too little; nor consuming meat, fish, shellfish, fowl or eggs.
10.Shaucha (शौच): purity, avoidance of impurity in body, mind and speech.

I like all of them except the "Shaucha" thingy.

"purity, avoidance of impurity in body, mind and speech"

"Purity"?

"avoidance of impurity in body" -- as in (perhaps) "No drugs, sex, or rock and roll"?

"Purity" is very much an ego-concept.  Only your oh-so-righteous ego understands, and urges for everyone, "purity."

Good Buddhists reading here should be horrified.

I find that finding purity in all things takes a special viewpoint.
But it doesn't absolve you from karma.
People think if it's one taste then where's the karma?
The karma is knowing you did it.
Everything is from the primordial elements
which is the tantra.

Well I gag at the notion of "purity" because we can't really know what's "pure" and "impure."  Our egos think they know, but they don't/can't.

There is, imo, only what's useful and what's not.

When I have my shit together, I know, intuitively, what's useful and what's not.  I know, for instance, that my (and your) wicked thoughts (a perfectly normal and natural attribute of the humans) are perfectly okay, provided we don't translate them into action.  Provided we do as little harm as is humanly possible.

If anyone -- any guru or the equivalent -- tells you they do not experience wicked, impure thoughts, don't believe them.

They're hucksters and full of shit.

What does purity really mean, that's for you to decide

in my opinion true purity means taking things as a whole instead of trying to separate them out

the philosophy that everything is already holy, we don't have to make it holy, the divine pervades all things regardless
how then otherwise could it truly be divine?
this is a mystical point of view, but it is the highest truth

everything is pure right now, as it was in the beginning, all things are ultimately innocent, even the ego, learn to fully love, to love without discriminating with outside appearances then you will truly be happy...

if you keep trying to change the outside, you are only attached to outward form

yomo buddha

May we all not take the roleplay too far, for enjoyment only, not for enslaving beings , the game can be turned off at any time.

Very beautiful.

And yes, it is indeed a profound and mystical truth.

There is a passage in the Tao Te Ching which one translator has translated like this:

The universe is sacred.
You cannot improve it.
If you try to change it, you will ruin it.
If you try to hold it, you will lose it.

I think you're confused. Hindu Yoga has nothing to do with Mosaic law. Nazis had little to do with the former (except perhaps the Yoga book that surfaced a few years ago belonging to Hitler, possibly influencing him to become a vegetarian), as as for the latter, the Nazis had nothing to do with Mosaic law but destruction of Jewish Torahs and literature.
