Stuck in a rut

Have psychedelics ever benefited you in anyway when you're stuck in a kind of rut?
My path in life is looking a little bit cloudy, nothing much on the horizon, and its getting me down a bit.
I'm on of those kids with """""potential"""""", uni drop out, now in some shitty part time job, all that bullshit.
Is it possible that 1 hit of LSD could help me to think more clearly, assess my situation from a different perspective possibly? Or will it likely be overwhelmingly negative?
In the type of mindset I'm in, could LSD be therapeutic to me?
Any similar scenarios?

I would say no. Don't look for drugs when you're down. That's how alcoholics get where they are. That being said, a medium dose of LSA or shrooms can be incredibly insightful. I didn't find LSD to be insightful, moreso a mindfuck good time. I would lean toward LSA in your case. I had a great experience with it lately and it was very healing for me. I wrote a trip report on it earlier today.
I started doing that with drugs in high school. I dropped out. Finished, but dropped out. Therapy becomes a distraction after a while, and you have a lot going on.

A Buddhist would tell you to eliminate all your wants and reflect on your life/meditate. I remember a time in life where I felt so numb emotionally that it was like I had another layer of skin on. Then I stumbled across some psychedelics (p.cubensis) and I was able to feel again like I had for most of my life. I stopped thinking I was ugly and stupid and started thinking about everything I could do if I wanted to. I'm not even close to ugly... I still find it astounding I ever looked in the mirror and perceived myself that way.

work is overrated. Yes lsd could give yo a different perspective but I doubt that it will change your situation rapidly. You may end up quitting that job and being homeless

Nice advice.
I do have some shrooms on me as well also, I've been planning some type of experience for a while now, it just so happens that all this shit has been the backdrop.
I can easily find myself in moods where I'm totally content with things, but I know for sure that this whole scenario is lingering in my subconscious and am wondering how it would react when shrooms are thrown in there.

Ime they can and have definitely helped. Often times the trip will just be amazing, insightful, clean, and I'll just come out feeling reborn. However I would never go into a trip with such intentions expecting anything, and being ready to deal with negativity if it comes. It's really just up to you though, if you think it can help then it likely will, but you also have to put some work in yourself.

I can't say it would be the same for you... but LSD has been therapeutic for me. Saved me from intense depression where I felt like I had nothing left to live for.
Opened my eyes.
