BRF cake to Monotub questions

I saw on a thread that was recently posted that you could spawn BRF cakes to a Coir/Verm monotub and skip grains if you didnt have the extra money to buy Quart jars and WBS. I had never heard this before and can't find any total, start-to-finish BRF Cake to spawn grows in the search so I have a few questions
1. Do you have to allow the mycelium 1 week to consolidate it's hold on the substrate, like if you were going to fruit the cakes in a SGFC? Or is the myclieum ready at 100% colonization?
2. Since the objective is distribution of mycelium and not to fruit the cakes directly, would it be okay to use 4oz (Half of a half-pint) jars for faster 100% colonization.
3. How many jars would you need to knock up for an average monotub?

1. no don't let it consolidate if you're using it as spawn. When it gets to 100% then use it right away.
2. I used 1/4pt jars for PF tek before they're slightly faster but it's not going to really matter either way you just want enough mass of chopped cakes.
3. A lot. Never tried it before but I would use at least 1/2 of the volume of your substrate as the pf spawn. So if you're using 5 quarts of coir/verm at least 2.5 quarts of pf cake. I guess it depends on how small you chop it and everything so your results may vary.
You're just shredding up cakes to make them effectively the same source of inoculation as a small grain covered in mycelium.

Jars are like 8.50-10 dollars for 12 and then WBS is cheap too. Probably cheaper then setting up a PF tek grow. I got my pressure cooker of of craigslist for 20$
