Eaten Resinous Polypore?
    #19173759 - 11/22/13 06:07 AM (10 years, 2 months ago)

Has anyone ever tried to eat a Resinous Polypore? I've only seen 2 accounts where someone has tried one that was young and tender but not much else. Are there medicinal benefits to them? I feel they may be a disregarded and overlooked bracket with potential.

That was a very interesting thread, thanks for the link. Have you tried culturing any of the species mentioned?

I have never tried to culture it but I have attempted a wild transplantation about 4 years ago. I transplanted some infected heartwood into a fallen Oak tree on my property. By drilling out deep holes and placing the infected heartwood into the holes. This was the first year that there were furit but the flush is a good 9 feet from the incoulation sites. So maybe it took or this is just a coincedence.
