If you have references, you should list them, or write "references available upon request".

If you don't have references then leave it blank.  I wouldn't imagine references are that critical.

I wouldn't worry about it too much, OP.  They aren't looking for doctors or bankers to work at the donut shop.

Yeah, I just came back from Subway. Gave me an interview, then asked me to fill out an application and I left the "References" section blank and, well, I'm scheduled to start training.
