me and my seizures

so i'm sure about everyone here has read in one post or another about my grand mal seizure i had earlier this summer. i was horribly addicted to rum(over a liter daily) and around 60-80mg etizolam spread throughout the day and night. i ended up with 4 massive grand mal seizures in mid july all in the same day. they took my license away as is required by law and my life went downhill fast in this shit little town after i got back from burning man. told myself i could handle the gabas but there is no way to get away with it. i'm literally having petite seizure flashes every 60 seconds or so and i'm wondering how it looks(pitiful i'm sure). I've come to the conclusion that i am unsafe to drive for the rest of my life, or at least i could never trust myself other than running a tractor away from roads. it just really sucks because now i'm scared to take ANY benzos or alcohol, but i'm 100% sure THAT is one thing that can only turn out better without. there is a lot more but i will stop for now, thank you for reading if you did. love y'all!

I'm not sure this is the most appropriate forum. You might get better responses from like the physical well being, or maybe even other drugs.
I can relate to you a little, in that I had a pretty severe seizure a few months ago and now I'm extremely limited in how I can move.
Hopefully you won't have seizures for the rest of your life, I'm not sure how that works really.. But stay away from the benzos and alcohol man.. it will only make it worse.

hey man.
I'm in about the same boat as you, except I only had 2 and it was a few days over a year ago. I haven't been able to drive since. I do however have an emergency stash of xanax that I take if I start shaking. Be careful with experimenting though, benzos can cause the shakes if you take some and then dont. I just happen to know how my body will react to benzos in almost any situation, i've been taking them nearly my entire life.
My seizures came about a week after thrice dosing on supposedly very pure molle and a 2 year strong 25mg/day xanax habbit. I attribute it to the molle mostly. OFC the er dr just wrote me up as another kid WD'ing from benzo's, even though it had only been 3 hours since i took one. Not enough time to be in WD..fkin bitch Anyway.. she just sent me home with a 3k ambulance bill and a 4k ER bill, and big "DRUG ABUSER" stamp on my medical record . I was in there for like 3 hours total, all they did was give me a drip. Had another seizure within an hour of getting home, and my dad took me back for another 8k in bills cause they kept me over night the 2nd time. If that bitch ER dr wouldn't have just past it off as some drug abusing kid cause of my tox screen, then maybe I wouldn't have had two
Talk to your dr about some seizure meds. I've been on a couple different ones but keppra was the best, and most expensive (60$/mo). Right now hes trying me on some 10$ one I have to take 3x a day. It doesn't work as well and I feel like im on the edge of having a seizure much more often. Just have to try them until you find the right one.
Do you get any warning with your seizures? I usually get in a super weird headspace and all fuzzy faced feeling about 5 mins before I have one, so I dont really have any trouble getting to my bed before i pass out. I still have about 1 a month.
My dr keeps telling me I shouldn't be working/driving. Im getting nervous that hes going to officially mark me disabled though, and i dont want that on my record. I've been saving up to volunteer in india or africa for 6 months and I can pretty much garuntee I wont be allowed to go if I have "DISABLED-SEIZURES" all over my medical records when I apply and they submit me for their med insurance

the drug abuser stamp on my record has got to be the hardest thing to get used to. i finally understand why i should not be driving better than probably most people without actually hitting another vehicle or bicycle before i grasp it. it makes it even harder to get any pain meds. even my last doctor admitted they were an extremely safe alternative with strict education and adherence to a model for tapering ever month or so. it solved ALL of my problems and then he called me a drug user for trying to get a refill on my normal Norco prescription through him at a follow up appointment which was all normal. he turned me over to pain management, which would have been great but i was bone dry going in there. i got upset at myself after an hour or more trying to get a drop out. i also have a shy bladder and can't pee in new places right away. i cracked the little plastic cup and the office freaked out on me. if only there was some benefit to bridge burning. i haven't found any yet.
i only had the 4 grand mals one day and thousands of petite mals. stress, dehydration, b-12 or thiamine deficiency seem to be likely triggers.

Your symptoms sound awful though. Are you sure you're going to be able to keep up the cold turkey approach without falling back into use? This sort of thing takes time, think years. I would suggest going easy on yourself and working out a taper-off plan with a doctor. There are many factors you have to think about. There are a lot of drugs that lower your seizure threshold that you are going to want to stay aways from like caffeine. Please be safe, and make a plan you can be successful with
I've been doing this for years and have the opiate use under responsible use even when i get ahold of a good stash. i know i can quit but the symptoms are getting scarier every time. it has taken about two weeks this time to just get my thoughts in line with my memories, dreams, and experiences over the last 2+ months. i'm seein g and hearing shit that i know aren't there. scary fucking shit for sure.

Dude youre like me except I dont drink lol. Been dealing with heavy opiate addiction for the past year. Ive weened myself down to 1/6 of what I used to do on a daily basis. My due date to be sober is in about a week, so here comes another 10 days of dope sick
The only other time I've ever detoxed I was coming off about the same amount of use, just it was before i had my seizures. I know this time im going to be freaked out about seizing the entire time im dope sick. Just another level of suck-itude. I have to go get blood work done within about 4 days, so I'll have to go 24 hours sober for that. I'll still probably end up explaining opiates in my system, but after 24 hrs the levels should be low enough i can convince them i just took a left over vico for a headache or something
Luckily the only "drg abuser" stamp I have is from that er doctor about benzo's. I can still get a rather large vico script from my dentist if I really wanted to push it

Am I misunderstanding something here? Or did I miss a few words or something?
I've never heard of someone having a seizure from stopping opiates. Unless you meant you were stopping benzos also.
